Jamboree 2011 Selection feb 2010
5 Scouts/Explorers (from Berkhamsted & Ridgeway Scouts, Oddy & VVV Explorer Units) have been selected to go to the next World Scout Jamboree in Sweden in 2011.
They will join 76 others from around the County to train over the coming year so they can rise to the challenge of meeting 36,000 other scouts from around the world.
The selection day was Sunday 21st February, very apt as it started with snowfall as they met in Tring car park. A 2 hour walk to Cheddington took a bit longer as boots got clagged up with mud, still by the time they reached the campsite it was sunny - but still cold.
6 other activities over the day were structured around the theme of the Jamboree - 'Simply Scouting'. So it was putting up tents, cooking, pioneering and finaly putting together to make a presentation.

Their work now starts with the County units meeting on the first weeekend in March, and then they have to start with their own fund raising
- all this and school work too!
