Before. We have taken the doors off of it, and have removed one of the vertical supports, the one that should go on the bottom shelf, stage left. We took it out so we could move it more to stage right, making a larger oven. This is going to be so much fun!
The cutout and holes for the sink and faucet.
Stage left, you can see where we moved the lower support piece to line up with the upper support piece. This makes the unit look nicer (our opinion) as well as making a larger oven.
Here we've laid the marble contact paper for the backboard and countertop. We've also mounted the sink and faucet.
The refrigerator is on stage right, the oven stage left. We have laid the rest of the marble contact paper on the backboard, and half of the stainless steel paper on the stove top. We still have to do the rest of the stove and the stove backsplash (where the knobs will be mounted). Also, it needs burners and a couple of shelves. But it's getting close! Now it is very obvious how saggy the unit is in the middle - see how the oven door leans inward? We used a clear, sticky plastic carpet protector as a mask for spray-painting the oven window. We used brushed chrome handles from Target for the oven and fridge doors. It was a six-pack, so we'll use the others in our real bathroom.
We added the stove backsplash and you can see most of the kitchen toys in the storage cabinet. We still need more burners, need to add the knobs, a towel rack, and I think maybe a window with curtains over the sink. Gary is thinking about adding a real cabinet over the countertop.
