For the last few years I have been amazed at how many mushrooms and other fungi grow on what some of us call dead wood. The remaining stumps such as the one in the picture provide prefect oportunities for new life plant and other creatures to grow or feed from them. "Tears of Spring" - It was a rainy, cloudy day but that did not stop us from venturing out to capture some macro shots of the wildflowers around Ragged Falls....it wasn't till I had this shot up on the monitor did I notice the rain drop...what a wonderful surprise.I worked on the saturation a bit then boosted the darks and lights, I also cropped out some of the background clutter.
