Most photos are by Almost-toes-on-the-nose Ross
Surfing shots are by Suzanne (except where noted)
Alan (left) was the trip leader/coordinator for the 12 of us
The following set of pictures is from the Vista de Valle, located about 20 minutes West of the airport at San Jose
We stayed first and last nights at the Vista de Valle, but it is so nice that it makes you want to stay a lot longer.
This deck hangs out over the cliff. Super place for morning coffee or evening sunset.
The cabanas are spaced far apart in a cultivated jungle setting. They are awesome.
The non-surfers in the group would have been totally happy just to stay at the Vista de Valle all week.
They will transfer you to/from the airport also so you don't have to rent a car
Bavarian Gold
Boogie Board Tracy (actually she rides a knee board)
Suzanne stole my Bavarian Dark. It is good stuff.
She is making the chips we had with salsa a little while later
Dinner at the Vista de Valle is an awesome treat.
Sunrise! San Jose is out there below the clouds.
It gets light around 5 AM
There is a major waterfall down there with a trail to it. You will need hiking boots for the very steep and slippery trail.

The ocean is out there somewhere... we should have turned LEFT here instead of RIGHT...
Alan on an 8 foot quad fin
She was out there every morning before 6 AM!!! What a gal !

Boogie Board Tracy totally RIPS the bigger sets
Boogie Board Tracy got beached with with five stictches from a fin cut. (She quit smiling when the morphine wore off).
Motels ran from $5 to $165 a night. This is the $5 a night place.
Read the fine print
I think Boogie Board Tracy shot this pic. (Suzanne doesn't let Ross take pics like this)
The following set of shots are from Samara, about 45 minutes south of Nosara
Samara is a protected bay. It gets some small lines during high tide, but outside on the reef looks pretty big
Playa Carillo - the next bay south of Samara
There's a bare on the beach!
If I touched out that cell-phone tower on the hill, this would make a good painting
Ross's Bro and Sis
155 miles per gallon!
Termite nest
Is it Eddie or Eric? I never get it right. We have been buying pottery from him for 5 years now so we brought him and his bro baseball gloves from the states.
The BEFORE shot is in the June slide show, this is the AFTER shot.
I think this stuff comes from Nicaragua. Wages in Nic were about 30 cents an hour the last time I was there.

A lot of shops have free WiFi now. The internet cafes may be going the way of the dinosaur real soon.
Yup, that's Peter Lewis from Surf Express (long ago). Now he surfs every day in Nosara.
30 to 40 foot plume!
Bavarian Dark... mmmm good!
Almost-toes-on-the-Nose Ross made the cover shot for the SurfingNosara.com surf report one morning
Erik of SurfingNosara.com fame
From the Dona Ana Restaurant in Playa Garza. Good food if you can find the place.
Ed's favorite shot
30+ mph offshores one morning! Neat plumes but just too windy to surf.
The SurfingNosara.com photogs
Someones said this is breadfruit. Beats me though
Modern communications are available in the hotel lobby
CFLsurf readers were running all over Nosara!
We rented a pretty nice 2 BR house with pool for $800/week (low season rate).
The Harmony is a real nice place for breakfast. But the rooms are a little bit pricey for most folks (including me). Its real nice though.
The Harmony - I just had to eat breakfast here when I saw the place. Food prices are quite reasonable and the food is super.
