My bed at Heathrow Airport. Comfiest. Night. Evar...
ON A PLANE!!! It was awesome - I'd never seen clouds from the wrong side before, I LOVED it!
Pretty Orléans street. French architecture is so, so beautiful!
James at a cafe thing we stopped for lunch at. With the sun in his eyes. :D
Innovative travelling - girl on the pedal with her father pushing the bike along making her bob up and down... was hilarious to watch!
Orléans Cathedral by night...
... and again by day. :)
It was so tall, far more than these pictures can convey. It was amazing to stand inside and look up - it went on for miles! And in the days before machinery and cranes and hoists... it's quite breathtaking to stop and think about it.
That teeny tiny dot is James. I was trying to show perspective of just how big this Cathedral was!
Why does stained glass never come out anywhere near as impressively in photographs?
The cathedral was full of these little stories conveyed through the glass. It was beautiful.
This was awesome - a doddery french bloke saw me admiring it and proceeded to explain in very fast, complex french everything one could possibly wish to know about it. I, of course, did not understand a single word (I had said I was English and spoke very little French, but he was undeterred!) but "Oui"'d in the appropriate places out of sheer politeness.
Statues punctuated everything - every window, sash, break, column... EVERYTHING! This one was particularly lovely.
A bizarre little house we passed just before discovering the Geek Pub.
I don't know quite why I was so drawn to it, but I was. It just looked so... odd!
Playing Tsuro with a student inside the geek bar. It was a LOT of fun - we spent about 3 hours drinking beer and nattering in terrible french. :D
I'm not sure what James is attempting to explain here, but it's obviously very puzzling. :D
