This is the excellent sort of view I had from the plane I took to Vancouver. Quite a nice flight. Perhaps the best I've ever been on.
Still more clouds and snow
This is the beginning of our decent into the Vancouver airport. I was quite shocked right here, as we suddenly came out of the clouds and were like 100 ft above the water
Here we are at the "oh crap are we going to make it" phase of the landing sequence
And here we are touching down, with YVR in the background.
This is the plane I came in on. You might notice it is raining. WHAT ELSE would it do in Vancouver, when I have to walk across the runway because Air Canada is too cheap to build a corridor
The international section of the airport has instructions in English, French, Chinese, Japanese, and something that looked arabic, but could be something else. I thought it was neat.,
There's the damn plane I sat in for 20 hours. It is very big, an Airbus of one sort or another
The International section of the airport is basically like a mall where you happen to also go on airplanes.
The airplane is very very very long
very long
This is the deserted interior of Hong Kong Airport. I imagine during the day it is quite intense
The countdown to the Olympics! I've now seen two of these (you might recall there are some olympics happening in Vancouver as well)
This is like the third floor of the airport. I am not entirely certain why there were multiple stories, as we seemed to wander randomly between them
This is what downtown Hong Kong looked like to me as we drove past. That is, a bunch of squiggles
This is what it looks like out my hotel window. That building's lights change colour quite nicely. I am going to appoint it my official Christmas tree
I am 19 stories up (or so they claim. I counted only ten floors beneath me, but who am I to complain)
