Good morning, Gulf of Mexico!
D and Ken on the Promenade Deck.
Sunrise and the boat's wake.
D's yummy breakfast, full of protein and sugar. She ate it all AND had a hot chocolate!
Watermelon carving.
She looks like she's crying out of her right eye because of the seeds.
Another cute bunny.
Our table with a view.
Neat mosaic work behind the Windjammer Buffet line.
D and me with the wooden flamingos in the doorway of Windjammer.
Portifino, the premium restaurant we won't be visiting because we're enjoying the dining room just fine, thank you.
Ken and D make another, more successful, run at mini-golf.
Dwarfed by the rear stack.
The sun peeking through the main stack.
Ken won this round, then they tied the second.
Sports deck.
The Logo Shop, where Daphne bought Inky the octopus.
RCI's president's donated car sits in the Royal Promenade.
Ken is ready to climb!
Daddy and daughter climbing together.
D comes down from her first try.
Ken made it quite a way up.
The second go.
They both got a little farther the second time.
Temporarily worn out, but happy!
Hey, guess what? ANOTHER bathroom! Nice view from this one, too.
Who needs a rock-climbing wall when you can just shimmy up a pole?
The top of the kids' pool slide as viewed from...
...the inline skate track.
We skated together for about half an hour, then D skated another fifteen minutes.
Yummy sandwiches from the Promenade Cafe. My favorite was the tomato mozzarella; Ken liked the proscuitto, and D enjoyed the ham and cheese croissants. Maybe I'll try the egg salad tomorrow. Ooh, and the four cheese.
Daphne and me taking Latin dance lessons.
We learned a few basic steps.
Daphne LOVED The Vault. The doors have to be opened by your pressing on what looks like a palm scanner. Very fun.
Live strings in the Royal Promenade.
I just noticed the CDs! If I see them again, I'll buy a copy; they were very good.
Sweet Kenneth, chilling in the Cafe with Daphne and me.
One of Daphne's favorite pastimes, vacationing or not: shopping.
Chillaxing by the pool. We're almost to where it's warm enough to swim!
Daphne decided it was warm enough to swim!
Yep, that's Daphne!
Ken's favorite pastime, vacation or not: Adults only areas. :)
"Our" centrum, at the back of the ship.
Looking way, WAY up the aft centrum.
Inky, Daphne, and me waiting for the ice show to start.
"Ice Odyssey" had a cast of about 10 or 11.
There were some great skaters, especially considering what while they were trying to do this graceful production, the ship was altering course to pick up a lift raft.
"Day of the Dead" type skating in black light.
This lady was my favorite, and not just because she's from Las Vegas.
She was crazy great with the hula-hoops!
And Daphne was crazy happy with her ice cream.
Daphne and me, all ready for formal night.
Daphne, during her portrait session.
In honor of the formalities, there was live music on the staircase.
Handsome family? Okay, sure... now let's eat!
Have I mentioned that I love this little gal?
One of our tablemates took this picture. Daphne was working with a toothpick / salt shaker puzzle that the server had given us.
Ken's lobster bisque.
Daphne's escargot.
My chilled golden pear soup with cranberry relish. (Think applesauce; it was good, though.)
Mmmm... snails.
D's duck, potato puffs, cabbage (which I ate; it was fabulous) and snowpeas with a currant sauce.
My sea bass, Spanish sofrito, polenta, capers, and spinach. I shared because this was a giant piece of fish!
Ken's truffled mushroom linguini alfredo.
My cherries jubilee.
Daphne's double strawberry cheesecake.
Ken's Grand Marnier souffle with sauce.
Towel stingray!
D showing Inky the pool deck after dark.
Daphne has been fascinated by the Greek statues at The Solarium, an adult-only portion of the ship.
Looking down ten stories from the top of the forward centrum.
Daph, Inky, and their new friend we thought might be Poseidon, but aren't sure... Anyone have any ideas? He has a club and what looks like a dead dog?
Some artwork in an elevator bay.
This looks like the bough of a ship.
Inky checks out the sea of black as people with the later seating head to dinner on formal night.
Desserts and snacks from the Promenade Cafe.
