Hallelujah! No more ugly concrete block! Just drywall everywhere waiting for primer and paint. This is the former front of the church which will now be the rear. Reconciliation Chapel and storage on the right. More storage on the left. Devotional space in the center.
Worker refinishing our beams. Note that the Windows had been removed and boarded up anticipating our new stained-glass.
Looking north towards our wider east entrance.
Another look at the east entrance. The left half of the opening is a glass window. Double doors are on the right. Nice wood finish on the doors. No more ugly brushed aluminum.
Looking at the reconciliation room and storage room in the Northeast corner. They have installed soundproofing in the reconciliation Chapel so your confessions will be more secure than ever.
A worker applies masking to protect our wooden beams in preparation for painting the walls.
Looking south towards the altar area. Note the semicircular step in the floor where the new sanctuary will be. Stained-glass windows will fill the panels on either side. Note that the wooden beams have been masked off to protect them for paint soon.
View of the new area behind the altar. Lots of beautiful natural light coming through the high windows.
Review of the other side of the new addition.
A closer look at those high windows.
Same view from the other side.
The opening from the rear of the church into the new gathering space. The right half of this opening will have glass windows. The last staff will have the worst.
Our new vestibule is being erected. Two sets of double doors will keep the cold weather out.
Another view inside our newsgathering space. Notice that the overhead ductwork has been redone.
Exterior view of the Northeast entrance.
All of the exterior brick work is done. New roofing is in place. Even the construction fence is wide open.
Side view of the new addition. Looks kind of plain now but when we get a cross hung on the front and some landscaping along with the stained-glass windows on either side it will be beautiful.
View from the other side. In the far left you can see our new vestibule entryway.
Wide-angle view of our facility. Fall is in the air.
Another wider view shows the entire school.
If we build it, they will come. Our family welcomes your family isn't just a catchy phrase. It's the way we roll here at St. Gabriel.
