Steel is finally going up. Here workers use a construction lift to prepare to add more pieces.
Note that the front entrance and choir loft windows have been completely removed as well as the openings for stained glass on either side.
A side view of the new steel.
An interior view shows the front door and windows removed. Shows the location of the front stained glass openings. There is a lot more steel lying there ready to be put up.
View of the firm openings from a different angle.
The old office area has been completely demolished. New steel beams hold up the roof. This is going to be a really nice gathering space when it is finished.
Another view of the lobby from the front door looking towards the restrooms.
You may not recognize this but this is the doorway from the lobby into the church. It has been widened greatly. The right half will be a set of double doors with glass windows where the old doors used to be. Temporary supports are still in place until the doorway is completed.
