Front of our church surrounded by construction fence and a nearly full dumpster from everything that has been removed from the interior. Note the sandstone has been removed from the areas where new stained glass windows will be installed on the far left and right. Concrete block remains for now but will be removed later.
Another view of the front. We are now officially a "construction zone"
Closer look of that stained-glass opening on the left side. Also note around the corner there will be a new emergency exit where the cry room window is located. Sandstone has been removed from the area.
At the east end of the building concrete workers unload their equipment.
A worker from Concrete Surgeons stripping the tile from the floor. Note the priest sacristy is gone.
Continuing to clean up the concrete after everything was removed. Nothing remains from the servers sacristy except the kitchen sink.
Concrete work creates a lot of dust that needs to be vacuumed up.
The remains of the altar steps are nothing but a pile of lumber. Note altar canopy and both sacristies removed.
South end of the church shows no more choir loft, cry room, confessional, or stairway. Note also all of the tile is gone and we have bare concrete.
Broader view of the north end of the church showing the demolition and lack of tile.
View of our lobby with the tile stripped. Note the ceiling supports on the left. These are necessary to support the roof temporarily as the office area is torn down. A steel beam and a steel post will later support the roof after the office is demolished.
Another view of the lobby. Again the roof supports are shown on the left. The stairway has been boarded up to keep people from wandering into the construction zone.
