An idyllic and abandoned stretch of beach we stumbled upon in Nungwi
Drinking beer at one of the two or three resorts for miles on this beach.
Another average day in Nungwi.
All the dhows leave around the same time for night fishing, it's really pretty when they all "deploy" at the same time.
Dhows against the horizon.
A fishing boat on the beach.

We stopped for a breather on our bike trip last weekend and were swarmed by kids.
Same thing, different kids.
The beach we "discovered" on our bike trip. Note the mangroves and the fishing boats.
These kids stopped Rebecca in the street and asked her to take their photo.
Boats on the beach at Bububu (I love alliteration).
Also at Bububu.
An artsy shot at Bububu.
Me and Dave in a daladala heading to Nungwi many weeks ago.
Me blissed out at a bar on the beach in Nungwi.

This building was restored several years ago by the Aga Khan Trust for Culture (one of the branches of the Aga Khan Development Network), and it holds a few NGOs and also acts as a tourist attraction. It's probably the most beautifully restored building in Stone Town.
Rebecca, Christina, John, and Kent, four of my fellow interns, at an outdoor concert on the last day of the Zanzibar International Film Festival.
A typical street in Stone Town.
I see this every day.
A dhow at dusk.
Kent looking colonial in front of the door to our apartment (Stone Town is famous for its beautifully carved doors).
Just another evening in Stone Town.
