http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vn3fWyZtk4E&fmt=18 - Obligatory soundtrack
The entire time I was setting this picture up, he was making hilariously creepy death threats towards me. Perfectly in-character.
TRIGGAH - MAXIMUM DRIVE
This marks the first of the pictures from the Tokusatsu photoshoot Friday night, many of which kind of suck because my flash is junky. For those unfamiliar, this is Kazuma Kenzaki, the main hero from Kamen Rider Blade.
And here's Kamen Rider Faiz, in nice homemade armor.
HEY, SAILOR MOON IS TOKUSATSU TOO
Not tokusatsu related; they were nearby and I couldn't resist a shot.
Wataru Kurenai/Kamen Rider Kiva. The Fangire markings on his face were particularly well-done.
HENSHIN (Takeshi Hongo, the O.G. Kamen Rider)
Kotaro Minami/Kamen Rider Black
On the right is a crossplaying version of Souji Tendou/Kamen Rider Kabuto. On the left is Sou Yaguruma/Kamen Rider TheBee.
The lot of us. Two Shotaros!
OH GOD, WHAT HAVE WE DONE
A random Invader Zim happened to walk by our photoshoot, and we all attacked her enmasse in pictures I unfortunately did not get.
Well, if we were going to attach her Kabuto Zecter to my Trigger Magnum, it was only fair that we do it with the Metal Shaft too. This time though, I started a Metal Maximum Drive first. She's pretty much going to murder me brutally.
Hongo doesn't take any crap.
Cosplaying boyfriend and girlfriend, actually. How sweet. This was the final shot I got from the tokusatsu photoshoot.
CAPTAIN FALCON, NOOOOOO
The guy on the right is actually from W-Time, one of the Kamen Rider Double fansub groups. His friend does the translating, and he does everything else. We were on our way to the Super Sentai panel at this point.
Waiting to get into the paneONORE DIKEIDOOOOO
Post-panel shenanigans. Who wants to follow him to hell?
You're lucky a single punch is the only thing Lightning's doing to you, Snow.
Unfortunately, the amazing Al was unavailable for the picture. (in a nearby seat, helmet off, napping)
DON'T MAKE ME BLIZZAGA YOU
DANCE WATER, DANCE
We were all trying to figure out how this guy even got up to this floor in that thing.
These two actually recognized me as Shotaro, so we stopped and took pictures of each other.
Cave Story rules.
I missed the steampunk photoshoot, so this will have to do.
In these next few pics, we were waiting for the Hiroaki Yuri, Hiroki Kikuta, and Shihori Q&A panel.
The first Ness cosplayer I saw. I was tricked into thinking she was the only one there. BOY was I surprised, as you'll see later in this album.
Turtwig, I choose you!
An amazing Dark Link.
As we were all filing out of the Convention Center during the fire alarm Saturday afternoon, many of us did a doubletake as we passed a random bush and something moving in it. Amazing camo. XD
With 29000 con goers, a significant number of them still in full cosplay gear, trawling the Baltimore streets during the fire alarm, we had plenty of time to take some nice outside shots.
Green Arrow's infamous Boxing Glove Arrows.
There was a Hetalia: Axis Powers photoshoot during the fire alarm, but it was scheduled to take place outside anyways, so it still happened.
The amazing part is, these two weren't even cosplaying together. They were totally separate and just happened to be walking down the hallway near each other when everyone stopped them and was like "PICTURES, NAO"
So here's where that surprise came in, when I was on my way to somewhere I forget and ran into a Mother/EarthBound photoshoot.
Smile and say "Fuzzy pickles!"
I actually asked if anyone at the shoot could do the Wess door dance from Mother 3, and an actual Wess cosplayer jumped up and did the whole thing, with all of singing the music for him. Unfortunately, the video I took of it got wiped somehow. :(
I asked Johnny Cage how he felt about getting killed off in the recent short film. He said he was actually happy about it, cause it just feels wrong when Cage isn't getting offed in a random game.
The first of many Legend of Zelda photoshoot pics. These people were all amazing, although the Great Fairy was both amazing and terrifying for reasons obvious to anyone who's played OoT.
I went off to snap a few random pics for a moment before going back to the Zelda group.
OH GOD, EVERYONE RUN
A cute little impromptu swordfight between Link and two Dark Links. Wish I could've got video.
LINK MAH BOI
Zeldas! King Harkinian snuck into pretty much every single one of the "one character only" group shots. And yes, that really tall Zelda is a guy.
Zeldas again, but one more popped up. XD
Links... and a Keaton.
These next three pics had the entire Zelda photoshoot group dancing to the Malo Mart theme from Twilight Princess; a random guy nearby with a stereo was kind enough to blast this song for us. - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OSBu5fBl2Kw&fmt=18
OH GOD, TWO OF THEM?!
And at this point, everyone stopped dancing to the Malo Mart song and started doing the Majora's Mask Kamaro/Rosa Sisters dance instead. - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VreuA8v8hrg&fmt=18
Nights and Reala! These two are actually from the major Nights fansite forums, so they knew Stevo
BATTLE OF THE CENTURY
I was very pleased to see someone rock the old-school and cosplay as male and female Ranma.
I knew there was no way I'd get through the weekend without seeing someone do the Caramelldansen. Seeing a bunch of Nintendo and Sega series characters doing it together was trippy.
X-23 gets pissed that they took the previous picture without her.
AXE COP (http://axecop.com/index.php/acguest/read/AC_MC1/) AND DR. MCNINJA (http://drmcninja.com/)
I felt the need to compliment her for being brave enough to dress as a live-action character in a convention full of animated and manga folks. There were few of us.
Tonight, I shall dine on TURTLE SOUP
Kroze (from the Yu-Gi-Oh Abridged forums) and a friend.
The girl on the left and I both took pictures for the company behind Super Kawaii Cosplay Magazine in the Dealer's Room. I have no idea whether either of us will end up being chosen to actually model for the magazine, but we had fun regardless, and I snapped a shot of her and her friend before they left.
He's covered wars, you know.
I specifically said "don't move; this is a perfect shot as is"
He started samba-ing behind her out of nowhere and I couldn't resist.
I happened to pass by a Oyaasan on the way to the Macarena of Time photoshoot.
Philip! Sort of. More like a random dude who happened to bring his Den-O and Double belts, and was wearing a windbreaker, and so didn't mind playing the Philip to my Shotaro.
The moment we started posing, I couldn't resist this shot.
Unfortunately I didn't get any pics while the Macarena of Time photoshoot was going on (would've screwed up the lighting), but here's a few pics after.
During the Photoshoot, Hiroki Kikuta and Hiroaki Yura just happened walk in and chat with djpretzel and Liontamer for a while. We took a group picture after this that you can see at http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2573827&id=5737515
Kikuta actually namechecked Dragon Song 10 minutes before Brandon even got there. When the composer likes your remix, you've made it.
I couldn't resist. XD
She was actually posing next to the men's bathroom ousdie the indoor fountains. Totally coincidentally; she was trying to head back into the main area. But because she was stuck there at the moment, she kept getting asked to pose in pics by a constant stream of people heading into the bathroom.
And thus begins Saturday night's Kamen Rider-specific photoshoot. We had a lot of fun with this one.
Deneb! With Deneb Candy, even.
Another Tsukasa Kadoya/Kamen Rider Decade showed up.
TRIGGAH - MAXIMUM DRIVE/ATTACK RIDE - BLAST
An actual Kamen Rider KickHopper IN ARMOR. Badass.
C'mon guys, stop fighting!
Kotae wa kiitenai!
Omae, boku ni tsuraretemiru?
This time, people actually tried to catch me before the henshin. FAIL.
Decade asked us to take pictures of him taking a picture.
Ichigo and Black doing Cyclone (how fitting) and Joker. WHAT HAVE WE WROUGHT
Final Form Ride?
Group pose, and the final shot I got. There was one more shot after this of all of us doing an ORE SANJOU that I hope will turn up somewhere later.
I had to get a pic of these girls at the hotel parking lot since I wasn't going back to the con Sunday morning.
All the rest of these pics were at Stevo's house for the OverClocked ReMix post-con BBQ Sunday afternoon.
It was inevitable we'd play HD Remix.
Taucer had to do some private filming for the Macarena of Time video outside Stevo's house.
Obligatory backing music - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ASUvn4Y2qKE&fmt=18
Yeah, I'd be tired after all that too.
HOT YAOI ACTION
But seriously, one scene in the Macarena of Time video required a shirtless Link grimacing at the stench of his tunic, but Taucer needed help getting the shirt off without pulling his elf ears off in the process.
Wait for it...
Okay, if you're wondering what the hell they're doing, they're doing the cat dance in Jimmy T's level of Wario Ware: Smooth Moves for Wii.
