From the street. Brick house from 1903. Veranda was added later - 1920's?
Car parking, with asfalt
From the garden side
Outer wall by parking
Some mortar missing between the bricks. Mainly this wall by the parking. And only the first meter from the ground. Not at all this much on the rest of the house (outside walls that is)
Algae?
Miniature moss
Entrance to the cellar/basement is by outside stairs from the the garden side of the house
Stairs to cellar/basement. Mortar is missing at the joint between the stairs and the wall.
This is the stair up to the main entrance. Original concrete steps from 1903 (I think). They are beginning to come apart
This is a room where we have not yet removed the old isolation from the 1950's.
Kitchen window. Outer wall is isolated with mineral wool then a painted masonite board nearest the room. The wall by the door is a brick wall with mortar, and painted with oil paint (I think)
Air inlet in every room
One of few original door trim. Most were exchanged to plain ones in the 1950's
This room shall become our new kitchen. The kitchen cabinets shall be placed on the wall to the left of my father, and the wall behind him. We have started to remove the old Treetex and mineral wool insulation (from the 1950's "improvement") .
The outer walls were covered with black paper (wind stopper?), mineral wool insulation (between wood ribbons) and lastly Treetex board.
Mineral wool insulation - 20mm?
A corner (of two outer walls) near floor after removing the insulation. Not much mortar left.
Originally there was an inner brick wall dividing these two rooms. It was removed during the 1950's. Now there is only a few decimeters left of it.
To the left is an inner wall.
The two walls where the kitchen cabinets will be placed. The treetex boar in the ceiling has been removed. Underneith there is the original ceiling. It consists of mortar on reed.
The windows were replaced during the 1950'.
The outer wall is one brick thisk - about 25 cm. The thickness can be seen on this picture where the wall is visible on both sides of the window.
The bricks around the window have been chopped off (on the inside). Probably when replacing the windows (1950') to make room for insulation.
On the outside, the bricks were left as they were
Same picture, no flash
Outer wall where kichen cabinet will be placed
Outer wall. The mortar have fallen off, or sits very loosly. Lots of silver fish and some spiders between the mineral wool insulation and the brick wall.
Inner wall and floor
Ceiling, with mortar and reed. Reed can be seen where the mortar has fallen off
A steel beam in the ceiling as the wall that was removed was a supporting wall
The first hole that I made in the treetex. It reveals that there is mineral wool insulation between the brick wall and the treetex
I have not yet removed the treetex and insulation behind the radiator. Must remove the radiator first
A corner of two outer walls
Other corner of two outer walls
Outer wall. The purple coloration comes from the black paper that sat closest to the brick wall
The two outer walls where the kitchen cabinets will be placed. Lots of junk of the floor.
A little to the right.
Not so beautiful installation of electricity.
Originally there was a tile stove here. It was removed when central heating was installed
Cellar window.
The windows were replaced in the 1950's
Window from the inside
This is the inner part of the original window. I found it in the attic.
