New Gurdwara Partial Opening 1 July 2009

Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji enters the new Guru Nanak Darbar Gurdwara in Gravesend for the first time on 1st July 2009. Readings of Sukhmani Sahib were carried out to mark the first religious use of one of the halls. One langar hall (dining room) was also brought into use on the same day.

Vaisakhi 2009 in Gravesend: Raising the Sikh Flag

The Sikh flag was raised outside the Civic Centre of Gravesham (Gravesend) on Saturday 11th April. This marked the beginning of the Vaisakhi celebrations in the town, building up to the Nagar Kirtan (procession) on 18th April and the main Vaisakhi Gurpurb service at the Gurdwara on 19th April.

The Deans of Canterbury and Rochester cathedrals plant trees at Guru Nanak Darbar Gurdwara Gravesend

The Deans of Rochester Cathedral and Canterbury Cathedral plant trees in the grounds of Guru Nanak Darbar Gurdwara, Gravesend. The ceremony was the idea of Amanda Cottrell, former High Sherrif of Kent and now Chair of Kent Tourism Alliance, who also selected and supplied the trees.
