Starting out... Peng Nam thought he was going hiking... LOL...
Peng Nam still in shock... HAhaha... Almost dropped my Dopod D810... sweat!!! Phew!!!
At the foot of the first climb ready to go!
Getting ready to tackle the hill.
Our rides... quite safe to park here!
Across the road behind the cars, is a motor cross track according to Sri Naga... :-)
George and Peng Nam reaching the top of the hill.
Sri Naga, Izaini, Azril and Henry (behing Azril) waiting to get on with the ride.... Sri Naga just registered at the guard house on behalf of us.
After a 300 meters climb to the top... steamed!!! Entering an UNMO retreat. The Sofia Jane trails starts from inside the retreat.
Just before the trail, we get a warning... :-) Little did we know that these warnings would foretold the things to come.
Right at the start of the trail... I was waiting to shoot George, Henry and Peng Nam start.ing.. little did I know we had our first casualty... Peng Nam ”pok kai“.
Here they come!!! LOL... signs of thinsg to come... :-)
Trying to cycle and shoot video at the same time... no way to do it!!!
A part of the trail...
Cycling and shooting video on this trail is next to impossible. Dun watch this, or you will vomit... LOL
The trails looked great in th early morning.
Soh Cicak getting a slight cramp... had to rest. We took the opportunity to conduct a Leech check!!!
A quick draw!!! To see who was faster.... looked like we shot at the same time.... the flash from George's camera just getting through my delayed shutter closing.
Oh... another stop to wait for Cicak to catch his breath... :-)
A gps pix to get location while we waited for Cicak to recover... :-)
A chance for a photo while we waited for Cicak to catch his breath again... thanks CIcak... for this opportunity... LOL...
Chatting about FRIM while waiting for Cicak to catch his breath.
Taking a look at the gorges, which I believe was created by water gushing down the slope during heavy rain.
Another break for Cicak... man... he is severly out of shape... LOL...
Everyone pushing their bikes up the slope.
Cicak almost passed out... he is really out of shape.... dun worry, we will get him into ship shape... LOL...
Cicak decided not to go on from here. But then... he found out why he must moved on... leeches. And of course The Ranger had another plan, he wanted to bring a chain saw to cut up the tree for firewood... LOL...
Henry finding a part of himself... LOL... he found his “soul”. Of course, Cicak was very happy to have the opportunity to stop for a break... LOL...
The totally unfit Cicak taking another break... keeps saying he wants to turn back... and that we go ahead without him... LOL
We met a hiker earlier.... Cicak wanted to follow the guy and his hound back down the trail... LOL...
THE Bike!!! Just check out Izaini lah!!! That guy has the strength of The Hulk!!! That's it, that's his nickname from now on... The Hulk... LOL...
The Cicak contemplated staying behind at this spot to wait for us to get him on the return leg. He changed his mind the moment he noticed the leeches surrounding him... LOL...
A Giant Ant convention and a quick leech check, while we waited for another Cicak stop... LOL...
We made it to the clearing with two paths. One to Ulu Langat and the other to the Sofea Jane waterfall, which was our objective. At this point it was a decision whether to carry the bike down to the waterfalls or just park the bikes and trekked down. In the end the Ranger and The Hulk decided to cycle their bikes and the rest to trek down.
We parked and locked our bikes.... it could be the last time we see our bikes... LOL
The trek down was no easy task as it was slippery and wet. I almost fell down a couple of times. Gotta get me a good pair of hiking/cycling shoes... :-) I wondered how The Ranger and The Hulk could cycled down.
George pulling a fast one...
It was fun trekking down to the falls. Definitely a different experience from biking. Oh did I tell you that we did not tell Azril and Izaini that we were trekking down without our bikes... LOL...
After parking and locking our bikes, we decended into the depths of chills.... waterfall chill!!!
On the trek to the waterfalls.
After about a 1 km trek, we reached the waterfall.
A view of the Sofea Jane waterfall.
What in the world is the name of this plant and fruit?
Below the waterfalls.
Finally, the waterfalls!
Below the falls.
Some kind of unknown fruit growing out of the trunk of the tree.
A close up of the weird fruit.
A lousy photo of George and Cicak... terrible phone camera this D810.
There you go... an excellent photo of the falls.... I wonder what those shadows in the foreground are... LOL.
Azril brought his bike down to the falls.
Azril getting his bike ready for a shot.
LOL... Azril posing with his bike.
Azril and Izaini climbing up into the falls.
Azril and Izaini on the falls.
The view from the top of the waterfalls.
The slippery and wet rocks which caused Cicak and Iron Man to slip and fall down.
George recovered from his fall with a tobacco-chinese medicine mixture applied by Azril to stop the bleeding.
A view of Azril and Izaini carrying up their bikes... made me so glad that I did not bring down my bike... :-)
The guys treking out of the falls... :-)
The guys coming back out to the clearing. Btw, the faerie circle was my strategy to keep the leeches away... :-)
We made it out after a long and rough downhill. George was the first to out, then me and then Sri Naga. Time for a leech check again... LOL..
After a while, we see the Cicak version 0.5... Henry, Azril and Izaini. A leech took revenge on Azril.... HAhhaa... and George was torturing one for research purposes of course... LOL...
After a fantastic downhill, we reached out cars...
Izaini the Hulk's take on the hash.
Sri Naga's take on the hash.
Cicak V0.5's take on the hash.
Iron Man George's take on the hash.
Henry's take on the hash. He looked hungry... LOL.
Azril the Ranger's take on the hash.
Will Cicak get his bike? Btw, he was using The Oracle's bike for this hash.
While looking for a clinic for Iron Man to treat his wound in Ampang, we saw some young and future bikers... :-)
Finally, after checking out 3 clinics, we decided to take Iron Man to go see a cardiologist surgeon in Bukit Bintang. Hey... nothing but the best for Iron Man... :-) Btw... he does not have anything wrong with his heart... just his head... LOL..
The clinic! Btw... Dr Oorloff passed away last week... I guess his partners are running the clinic now.
George describing what happened to him to the Cardiologist. The good doctor was kind enough to let us take video of how he treated the Iron Man. Warning: Explicit scenes ahead that will give you a hairy experience... LOL
Check out the wound on George's head! True to his nick, the Iron Man can still laugh about it. Wait till he see this video!!! GROSS!!!! WARNING: Brain sucking and extraction ahead... hey I thought this guy was a cardiologist? You will not be laughing when you see this video!!!! OUCH!!! OUCH!!!
Patching up the Iron Man's head.... as easy as 123... NOT!!! Hey, could you pass the doctor the welding torch? LOL...
That's it... the gloves are ON... The Cicak almost fainted from watching the blood coming out of George's head!!
Now we see a professional tailor at work!!!! A masterpiece!!! Again.... WARNING... blah blah... yuck!!!
7 stitches not enough lah doctor... George needs a lucky number lah... how about 8 stitches.... LOL... So how many stitches was that??? What?? NINE???? Hey... Iron Man, the doctor likes you so much that he gave you a bonus... HAHAHHA..
Here is the final stitch!!!
Look... as good as new!!! Getting the spa treatment... LOL...
After the surgery, the Iron Man relaxes... and received some further medication to prevent infection. I thought a jab on the arm... turns out doc wants to give him more than that... LOL
A jab of tetanus!
After the tetanus shot... George received a “war drug” jab to further make him feel safe.
Post mortem!
The scarf that save the Iron Man's life!!!
Nicole and Joel riding their bikes... :-)
Nicole, Joel and Jodene.
