Kyushu: "Seishun 18 Kippu green algae expedition 2009"
Trains, Scenes through train windows and lots of green algae along Kyushu coastline, Japan. Investigating on the distribution of Monostroma spp. in Japan, I set out with research gear to sample across Kyushu from march 20 to March 29, 2009 using Japan Railway's "Youth 18 ticket", which is, though seasonal, really cheap mode of traveling in Japan (especially for tight international students!). Algae collected are deposited as voucher specimen at SAP herbarium, Hokkaido University.
