Before we bought it, this Jeep sat in the storage yard at Three Rivers. Years ago, the Jeep was used around the resort.
Right where we found it! This is our 1948 CJ2A in the storage yard at Three Rivers Resort, Almont, Colorado. Our other '48 CJ2A is in the top left corner, orange in color.
Here, my Dad and I pose next to our new project. Mom is in the background.
Another view of the new project, and the orange Jeep in the background. The orange CJ2A is in worse shape but is expected to be a nice trail Jeep.
A previous owner cut the back frame off of the original seats. The steering wheel and other dashboard features all appear to be original.
The wheels all appear to be original.
This photo was taken in my garage after we changed the oil and spark plugs. The engine appears to be in good shape considering its age.
That's a 6 volt generator.
Rust in the floor boards.
The right step is in bad shape.
Old patching on the right rear fender. From looking at old photos, this appears to be where the spare is mounted. The strain on the body from the weight of the spare probably contributed to the damage that was patched here.
My guess is that the original color was Luzon Red.
VIN 207091.
Found this photo of the other CJ2A. This one has an F-head from a CJ3A, probably installed in the 50s. The hood was modified to allow the engine to fit. The seats are more original than those in the yellow one.
An original Carter carb. (I'm not sure how original.) We will probably install a Solex to get it running, then rebuild this Carter. We then will probably switch the carbs in and out depending on how we are using the Jeep.
This is the patch in the front floor board where the PTO shifter was located.
New wheel cylinder and refurbished original brake shoes. This photo is start of photos taken on 8/31/2006.

The body is "in progress." Both side panels will be replaced. The rear panels on either side of the tailgate will need to be replaced as well. And some brackets.
