Arctic Ice, bloom starting to open up for fertilisation, starting from the outside and moving towards the centre.
Look at the detail in the 'magnified' view [button on top-right].
Two of three flowers.
Another view, with younger bud in top-left of photo.
Hard to eliminate shadows from this flower.
Close up of opening flower. This also can be magnified for really detailed views. [click magnifying-glass icon and wait for the image to clarify.]
Move the magnified photo around with left-click and mouse movement.
An even clearer photo. Note the spider web in bottom foreground and insect. This is a world within a world!
Close up of the bud. These flowers take several weeks to mature and then open.
Once more from over the top. To get this perspective I have to hold the camera away from myself and guess at what it 'sees'. I try not to cut off the outside petals, as at the bottom.
Just made it with the bottom-centre petal. Afternoon shadows somewhat spoil the photo but better than no photograph at all.
Here's the three flowers together. The plant is quite small and slow growing. This is its second year of flowering.
