2011-10# With its striking colors, this creation of Luke is surprisingly very wearable for both Spring and Autumn. His design remains elegant while the look is sporty cheerful and juvenile. The exclusive borders of the pants and the top are giving a playful accent to the final result .... and WOW, WATCH THESE SHOES, they could be part of the Jan Taminiau or Alexander McQueen collection. Well done! Fall has started and before you know it's December again ...Let's bring this Babellissimo year to a spectacular end with a very festive end-of-the-year-creation, so start designing now!
Her Cute Babelle-en-rose combination brought Tessy to the winning Place of Honour of this month. The design is both Nostalgic as Modern and evokes a Romantic feeling while autumn leaves are starting to fall from the trees. A pair of sturdy boots were added which gave the final result a spicy twist. The styling is carefully put together and the final result was very nice worked out with lots of details....je vois la vie en rose...
2011-08# Especially for everybody who is fed up with this Summer's bad weather, here is the sun drenched creation by Itslieke.
Wearing this creation , notice the matching sophisticated heels, I'm going to perform the dance of seduction into an incredibly exhilarating thrill while tropical temperatures are observed. This design is not meant for shy wallflowers but for the queen of the sultry night who knows how to steal the show with fiery temperament. My goal is achieved and the crown is within reach...Finally , it will be Summer!
Last month Flora Rainbowcake (what's in a name??) entered the talentscout with her sparkling designs. In one month she uploaded multiple creations of top-quality, one unique piece after another, full of fantasy and style.
This festive creation is a magic scenery of materials, shapes and colours. Even after a closer inspection you do not know what you're looking at. Is it a painting, is it a collage? Unique in style and shape, this creation conceals a mystery that is hard to comprehend. Besides digital techniques Flora puts her designs together by hand in a refreshing and spontaneous way. I would recommend this approach to others, start sketching your design before you digitize. Flora, your career is starting here at Babellissimo, it will only takes time for you to end up on a Parisian Rainbow Catwalk. Please continue your collection!
2011-06# What strikes me, while leafing through the entries, is that many participants come up with an alternative to what is hanging in the shops already. Also, some of them make it very easy by designing a mini-dress that follows exactly the silhouette of the downloadable mannequin Babelle. But just an addition of a nice colour won't deliver you that place a honour, that's for sure.
But there are exceptions! One of them is this month's designer, who listens to the name SkiefZz.
What a magnificent collection this designer is putting together!
The great strength of SkiefZz lies mainly in the spontaneity which is shown in her designs. Almost all her designs have a surprising twist. Most creations can be interpreted in different ways and thus fascinate continuously. This creation, made in shiny leather, is playful and seems electrically charged. Especially its very contemporary and unique top convinced me. SkiefZz stole my heart and I certainly hope she will continue her collection.
This creation is made for the wind to blow through which makes it a perfect Spring / Summer dress. Marilin's design has got a striking silhouette which makes a great distinction between the many short stretch dresses which seem to be quite popular by many contributors. She clearly went looking for something else and that brings her this place of honour.
With all hope of a warm and sunny summer, I'm looking for more summerly creations so refresh yourself and go looking a little bit further than a short stretch dress, don't make it to easy for yourself. Surprise me, surprise yourself!

Simoneee added a striking application of buttons as a defining accessory to her design while ignoring the functionality of them. The buttons are super sized and form a striking color contrast within the dress. The application at the bottom of the dress, which she has added later, increases the contrast with the buttons even more and evokes a clash of styles within one dress. This design is an exciting, surprising variety of chic and playful and keeps me fascinating everytime I look at it.
Later this week you will find the place of honor-calendar at www.babelle.nl and you can subscribe to the newsletter so you'll be the first to get updated about the latest Babelle news and Babellissimo novelties.
Sometimes you immediately recognize a place of honour when you see an exhibit and that's what I felt when I saw this entry. Apparently Lara became inspired by the costumes from the Balkans and added her own twist to it. The result evokes the atmosphere of an electro-punk Cyber Lolita. The contemporary color combination is alternated with effective contrasting chequered fabric, giving it again a folk touch. Shoes and accessories were elaborated and are 24 carat plastic, in my opinion an entry like this deserves a Babelle d'Or of 24 carat gold!
The next place of honour will be online March 28th.

"I'd like to present the place of honour of Februari to this wonderful valentine's dress and dedicate it to all the talents that participated Babellissimo last month! What a terrific variety of beautiful designs. I want to express to all of you that '...you're the ones that I want..'.
This design is an extremely high gloss plastic fantastic creation which seems to drip from strawberry yelly. Annelovee also took care of all the accessoires which are matching the cupido-theme. What a fantasic, powerful, playful but sexy piece she has put together.
Tip: Consider a suitable designer-name to represent your collection."
"Last year's October Leyla gained a place of honour and again another creation by her made it to the top this month.
Like all Leyla's entries, also this entry is executed perfectly and the look is sexy, feminine and tough at the same time. But the story behind this design is what strikes me the most. Imagining me stealing the diamond really made my fantasy go wild. We all know Monroes ´Diamonds are a girls best friend´ but Leyla gives that theme a unique rebellious attitude which appeals to me even more. This is a great example of how any imagination or any story can be the inspiration of your design. Find that story and create your design. I think Leyla, with her beautiful collection made a big step towards becoming MY best friend, that means...second best friend.
I haven´t made my decision for the Februari place of honour yet, so don't hesitate and send in your designs.
Also visit www.babelle.nl and read more about this entry and babellissimo...and me."
"More than once Peacockfeathers seem to make a deep impression on young designers. Earlier a peacock-inspired-dress made it to the place of honour, see Naomi's creation of September 2009. Also Kayleigh got inspired by their magically vibrant colours, which brought her the place of honour for the second time in Talentscout-history. This is a comfortable dress to wear. Kaleigh also chose accessories that match her beautifully executed design, and she even went a step further in thinking about the fabric that is used for her creation. The combination of the peacockfeathers, leopard print and suede evokes the image of a modern cleopatra and this time I fully agree!"
"This entry by Lisa was sent to us much earlier and, while Babellissimo was officially launched, we were pleased to see it again this month. Lisa's collection always made an impression on me and I'm glad to welcome her at Babellissimo's.
The striking combination of colours, the shiny fabric and the distinctive silhouette make this dress perfect for this month's festivities. This design would definitely leave a strong impression on my dinnerguests during Christmas or would add a lot of glamour to every move on the dancefloor on New Years eve. It has the exclusive looks and the perfect fit, do we need more? It is the perfect dress to end this year's talentscout and to announce a creative and babellissimo 2011. See you next year!"
"Jocelyn has designed a special pattern to be part of this dress which made her design more unique. This colourful dress has got a destinctive silhouette and looks perfect for a hot summerday, a lightly dress with a comfortable fit. This time she´s created some matching shoes and applied the self-made retro-print to it. Because of the arrears in this Talentscout I've decided that Jocelyn also got the place of honour of last month. (she sent me the design last year, see her age ;-).
Some of you keep participating and come up with awesome designs all the time, I would love to show more of your collections in the future ! In the meantime thank you for receiving designs from abroad the Netherlands, which also means more competitors for the Dutch designers, so keep up the good work."
"Due to a very busy agenda I had to postpone the shooting for this month's entry. Which arrised the idea to give this month's and next month's place of honour to 2 creations of the same designer. Jocelyn Stein is part of the group of young designers that have participated this scouting on a regular base. Her entries are very detailed and perfectly managed together, she also selects her own backgrounds in which I'm positioned. This elegant combination has a beautiful texture applied to it. The heavy texture of the skirt goes perfectly together with the 'weathered' look of the jacket. The ochre bows intensify the refined combination of colours. The matching boots might be practical fo the winter but I think they don't match this outfit. By the way I can handle any blizzard even with my high heels on, so bring in the high heels."
"What an amazing dress this is! Romantic and nostalgic and it is managed together very carefully and in controll. The pleats are folded in a very special way which makes this dress very distinctive, also the pleats at the back are terrific! I think the black accents are very surprising and makes it more pithy, allthough I would have left the necklace behind, I suppose...
I think this is a perfect creation to start this new year with and I hope to receive more designs of this kind. At the end they will make up a splendid 2009 collection to be proud of and which can compete with a topdesigner's collection!".
"I think this design by Willemijn is A-W-E-S-O-M-E. It's very elegant, modest and exhuberant at the same time. Thanks to the big ribbon of the skirt its silhouet appears to be very distinctive. It is a wearable outfit allthough Willemijn hasn't chosen the regular shape, she has been designing a new creation with a final obstinate result which by the way could be a piece out of a topdesigners-collection. I can't get enough of designs like this!"
"It's fantastic how Valentino inspired Julia, who is many generations younger than the master himself. Also Valentino, like many other designers, is getting his inspiration from somewhere, often that might be a previous trend or the fashiondesigns from the past. Julia has captured elements of what she saw at the exhibit in Rome in one design. The bows, the draperies in the skirt, the silhouet of the 50´s, but most of all she is citing the polka dots...while translating them in supersized mega dots. The black and white effect is outstanding with which Julia is putting her own signature under the final result."
"You might expect that this outfit is more suitable for Spring but it will definitely become my festive December-dress. I'm very excited about this entry which is designed by Juliette, who already took the place of honour earlier this year (see the September entry). Besides being elegant and daring, its sexy boots, the sensational heels, and its striking yellow accents, this creation is complemented by a brand new fashion accessory: the Babelle Bathing-duck and I'm sure all Chihuahua's in the world would appreciate that. This entry inspired me to make a special 2008-wish for all of you; 'Dare to be different', follow your own star, your own style and make things happen! After Juliette's place of honour in September, the Babelle Talentscout inspired her to articipate a contest in her hometown. Her idea to organize a special fashion-event for and by youngster became the winning concept. The fashion-event is plannend for 2008, so Juliette, follow your own star and let it shine!".
"I would attend the Oscars in this beautiful static Hollywood gown, which is absolutely suitable for formal ceremonies. Made of the finest silk, with graceful applications in contrasting green and my initial right under the hip and ofcourse.. the endless split at the other side with which I'm going to catch everybody's attention. "Thank you Tamara for this fabulous dress! " is going to be my little speech while receiving the Oscar. The combination of the colours green and red is also calling up some kind of christmas-feeling...and speaking about that... What am I going to wear at the Christmasdinner?
Get inspired by the christmas tree, the crib, champagne, the fireworks, the silent night or the holy night, create what you think might be the most glamourous!
"When having a closer look at the entries that didn't make it to a special place of honour in this Talentscout, it strikes me that a lot of creations are worked out by stylists in stead of designers. Allthough the combinations of existing garments might look very attractive most of the time, I prefer the obstinate designs.
Last month a pineapple was the inspiration for Bo's entry, this month Juliette is mixing up the present with the past and is surprising us with her extravagant design. Its silhouet, including the corset and draperies on the hips, recalls nostalgia and romance. It seems that Juliette marches in step with the famous couturiers who are presenting us romance and drama for upcoming season. This fabulous creation might even suit Galliano's collection. In this case 'enough' isn't as good as a feast, that's why we substituded the bob-style with luxuriant curls and Juliette herself completed her design by adding the remarkable final dot."
"This creation is one of the 32 designs which were sent to me by Bo last month, and the
mere passion with which she completed her collection made her designer of this month.
Cutting, pasting, drawing, all kind of techniques were applied to put together a most colourful
collection of splendid designs. She finds her inspiration in all kinds of subjects which also
What a superb idea for a summerdress and so full of humor. Imagine this dress in shiny glitter,
with the contrasting tuft of green leaves, it might raise the temperature to tropical heat.
I'm absolutely sure this dress is going to incite the ultimate summervibe everytime you wear it,
even when it's raining. Once again I was styled with a blond hairdo, some extra hairpieces were
added, cause once you've decided to show off you better do it right.
Bo is dreaming to become a fashion-designer as she told the newspaper which wrote about her Babelle-
"Very very nice entry, perfectly managed including background, styling and accessories.
I think this design deserves the first award for subtelty. At first sight the round neckline, the
cute sleeves and the length of the skirt evoke the image of a modest design but at the same
time Jocelyn emphasizes the female shapes in a browbeated way that can not escape your
attention. You better ring the alarm when your secretary has entered the office in this
"Esther takes the opportunity to create a totally new Babelle, including a Blonde hairdo and I think it's Great !! Having a closer look at her design she's determined to model upon the concept which she had in mind like a true designer. I felt very attracted to the overall-print which is covering the coat. During this photoshoot I imagined myself to be the sexy Trinity in 'The matrix goes pink' ... and action !"
"A marvellous and 'tres' coquettish creation with a superb combination of fabrics and colours. This outfit appears to be dressy and casual at the same time, suitable for a shopping afternoon as well as a more formal occasion. A giant bag, at least the size of your ego, was added to complete the design...Astrid understood that trend very well ! This design became the winning creation of the
very first Babelle Design Contest that was organised in the Netherlands earlier this year (March 2007)."
"Kayleigh's dress is AWESOME! She has managed together a striking collage of existing graphics which she used for the overall-print of her design; it makes her design unique and very distinctive. Allthough the colours aren't what you expect for the season-holidays, they appear to be very festive and perfect for the upcoming festivities! I think the whole is very elegant and sexy. The little hat makes gives it just a little extra and makes it all complete. I'm sure, I'll be dressed to impress this month !"
"Victor and Rolf aren't the only succesful collaborating fashion-talents in the world also Michelle & Roos seem to join their power succesfully. This creation does perfectly match the autumn season and seem to be appropriate for November's place of honour. Thanks to its distinctive colours, this wearable creation is very striking. The additional glitters make the final result shine in the autumn sun."
"I've chosen this creation because of its colours and the simplicity with which it is managed together, which results in a striking design. The dress reminds me of the eighties, That also might has something to do with the way Cherelle has put her entry together, very eighties style. Also the typical triangle hair-piece that she added to her design gives it the final new-wave accent."
"What a beautiful dress Eefje has designed! The top is very elegant and cleverly put together and she's added an unique style to the design. Allthough most entries don't mention the textiles and materials of the designs and in this case we can imagine that the top is made out of very soft leather which is in contrast with the finest knitten cashmere skirt. We couldn't show you the shoes in the final artwork but they are absolutely worth the attention."
"Hello you all, you've been very willing in participating this Talentscouting again, thanks a lot!
I've choosen the creation of Jacqueline because besides its beautiful and sexy appeal I think the idea of the ring is terrific. It is changing colours, from white to gold which means you had enough sun for that day. A perfect UV-alarm. I don't understand why it isn't in the shops already ! Jacqueline also added another colour-suggestion which applied to the beachball."
"Sometimes a design is remarkable because of its subtle details, othertimes the concept might attract you, but in this case it is the spontanity that I appreciate the most. This butterfly dress strikes me because of its uncomplicated way of how it is put together. "You want butterflies, then you get them", is what Lisa might have thought and she went straight to the point.
Lisa sent me more designs based on the same theme, the animal kingdom. It might improve the creative process to find yourself a subject or theme before you start designing. The limited space which is offered by this Talentscout gallery inspired Lisa to start her own site, to give her designs, and those of others the attention that they deserve. Keep up the good work Lisa!!! "
"This Talentscout exists 1 year, so it's time for a little celebration. That's why I've chosen this festive cocktaildress by Sylvie as the design of the month. It's a fabulous creation with its distinctive ribbons to the neck and its black lines in the top. The final result was produced in a comfortable and smooth fabric, which responds to every elegant move I make. Instead of the matching bag I've chosen to embrace a big 'I love Talentz!' heart just to show my appreciation to everybody who participated the Talentscout until now. Thanks to a small notification of this talentscouting in a Dutch girly magazine I became overwelmed by all the entries that I received last month...and what a gathering of creativity!!!
"Rosmalen is a small place in the South of Holland where a lot of big fashion talents are living I guess. Again a Rosmalens Talent has conquered the place of honour and her name is Sjacky Cooijmans. Sjacky sent us 6 awesome designs, which made it very hard for us to decide.
The striking puff sleeves, the big belt, the bows, ribbons and all kind of frills attached to the stockings, the pink lipstick and the high heels....all these elements are mentioned as the upcoming trends for the next season. But besides that I think the whole makes a pleasant combination that appeals to me. I also love chequered fabrics, although you can't read about them in the trendreports, I think they are for ever."
"Last year Bo surprised me by sending a complete collection of 30 talentscout-designs. Of course I still leaf through her collection every now and than and Februari seems the perfect moment to bring one of her designs under your attention again. When your neighbour is going to hoist herself into a corset to get ready for the next ´Burlesque' event you seriously have to question yourself how long this trend has to last. As for me I'll be glad to embrace something new, tough, rocky and less focussed on 'try to tease' (who cares?) and the fifties. This outfit is sexy, spicy and rocks enough to stir up the Burlesque dresscode to the next Bo-lesque level. Its big collar, shiny boots and striking colours remind me of glammrock (see the glitter outfits of bands like 'the Sweet', 'Roxy Music', 'Slade' in the 70's) . This outfit will bring back all the fun and makes you wanna rock in the first place, so mix up your perfect hairdo, loose your hold and get the party started!"
"December wouldn't be December without a festive dress and this design by Isa centainly certainly is.
Its shape attracts all attention and is unique. The top is sexy and the whole appears to be chic and frivolous. This year I had adapted the christmas-tree decorations to this dress, but wrapped in this creation I got all the attention….and that's how it should be!"
"Harayuku, the colourful Tokio-style, became this month's Talentscout theme and like a die-hard Harayuku designer Lisa embraced the style with open arms. All of her entries were 100% harayuku-style and could be an inspiration for every Harayuku-girl who express themself in the streets of Tokio. Lisa's saying it already in her own comments, what more is there to add? ...our world would look more fantastic when more creations like Lisa's would fancy our streets!
For the second time Lisa has gained the place of honour. Also take a look at her butterfly-dress for July 2009."
"Willemijn sent me this design of her cocktaildress as if she knew what I was looking for. She managed to create this uncomplicated design which looks smooth, elegant and sexy at the same time. I think the final result became a powerful creation full of temperament. The low back line makes it very sexy. This is a pleasant dress for a formal occassion, the more when a little dance is appreciated during the night…let it be passionate, and full of devotion!"
"Please allow me to introduce to you Randy Gros from the USA.
Randy surprised me with 4 most elegant designs of his vintage collection and every single design represents the class and style of the 40's and 50's. This creation became my most favorite. The asymmetric makes it very appealing and besides that I love the black and white chequered fabric very much. The final result became a perfect outfit to wear at the racecourse. The boots, with very high heels, make the whole very sexy. Stake out all you've got, in this outfit I'll be the winner of the race."
"What a striking creation this is! Its extreme form attracts me the most, It's striking without being flamboyant, thanks to its refining details that Naomi took care of. She also mixed up humor with elegance which I think is a succesful combination. Allthough this dress isn't to be worn by every women, for me I think it's perfect. Naomi paid lots of attention to complete her design, every detail, from jewellery to the funny accents on the shoes, is reflecting the peacock concept. I love it !"
"This Month I've chosen an uncomplicated design what is to blame on the good weather. Its look is simple, without pretentious, but striking enough to make it to the place of honour. Its pattern attracts me the most and is applied in a powerful colour-setting. Lauren applied the retro-pattern in different sizes and she perfectly understood that a less complicated dress would make this pattern show up best. The final result appears to be striking, casual, fresh and lightly but also special enough to be worn on a special occasion. It's a perfect dress to wear more often"
"Paris became this month's Talentscout-theme and leafing through the entries, the most recognisable image of the city, the tower of Eiffel, became the inspiration for many of you. Kevin, also inspired by this building, managed to create a unique form for his design unlike many others who used the image as an application. These trousers and matching top are made out of the most delicate Cashmere, which makes it refreshing to wear during the Summer, and warm enough to wear during the Winter. The unique upstanding flounce, on top of the trousers gives it a special and pleasant accent. The accessory makes this particular creation complete, good choice! Kevin succeeded to add humor to his design, which makes it even more attractive.
At last a guy who dares to participate this Talentscouting. While many fashiondesigners are male designers, it is surprising that I haven't received a design from a male talent earlier. Merci Beaucoup Kevin !"
"I thought it would be a good plan to take a better look at all last months entries and make a selection of creations that seem to be good enough to make it to the place of honour. Finally I asked you to vote for your favourite design and Evita's creation became the winner. I think her design isn't ingenious designed in the first place but its spontaneity and simplicity attracts me very much. The many shades makes it more uncomplicated...I think this dress became a unpredictable succes for Evita!
I've decided to give you a theme for June's place of honour, which will be.....PARIS. Get inspired by this amazing city, its painters of Mont Martre, les danseuses of the Moulin Rouge, la tour Eiffel...make it very Parisienne this time. Surprise me !"
"What an awesome dress this is! Like all designs by Sabrina, every detail is worked out perfectly. This creation is typical for her style which happened to be elegant en very feminine...I love to wear her designs!
I would wear this to the Oscars, it might be obvious that this creation is made to be worn on the red carpet. With that in mind I insisted to get a Hollywood hairdo. Red of course! It's the perfect addition to this dress...but doesn't that count for any dress!
I've decided to give you a theme for June's place of honour, which will be.....PARIS. Get inspired by this amazing city, its painters of Mont Martre, les danseuses of the Moulin Rouge, la tour Eiffel...make it very Parisienne this time. Surprise me !"
"Earlier I had received some entries from abroad, but this month it is for the first time that an entry from outside the Netherlands and Belgium has got the place of honour. This month's creation is designed by Vianca Vascas from Ecuador, and she is determined to become a Fashion designer.
Her design is very elegant and the big hearts that she has attached to the dress are shattering!
The colour-combination of red/black/white has always been very powerful and one of my favourites , it makes the whole very convincing.
Oh, what I almost forgot to say, but this dress reminds me to it...Thank you all for your lovely valentine-greetings! Love ya too !"
"At first this design by Amber appeals to me because of its incited admosphere. It's a plain but elegant creation, which increases the effect of the fluffies.
The applied colours surprise me very much, I'd rather expect them to be applied to Summerwear, but this refreshing combination of yellow and blue seems to exhord the Winter spirit very well.
It brings me in a sunny winter mood , of course I'd rather say some kind of "holiday on ice"- than "stand the heavy blizzard"-feeling."
"A lovely creation to wear for Halloween, but I would also make a splash with it on the bridge of Harayuku. As Jill says, this outfit is a mix of different styles. The styling of this entry; the makeup, the hair, everything is matching together perfectly and that is what what makes it very appealing. All different aspects of this design are put together carefully and perfectly I want more, more, more."
"Isn't it remarkable? Last year we had chosen Paris as theme of the month May and we received this awesome creation by Patricia. One year later, when New york was theme of the month, her creation made it to the place of honour.
I was attracted to this creation from the very first moment I saw it. This dress is elegant, striking and its distinguished black and white pattern evokes the New York Architecture in an abstract way. I love the red accent And the visual effect of the pattern's strong geometry on the slopes of my female body curves ...I wanna be a part of it New York, New York, and thanks to Patricia this piece became a part of my wardrobe!"
"Although initially the themes that we had planned for this talentscouting were well received by you , the amount of monthly entries was slowly declining. Maybe it's not quite the right way to encourage you . So we took a closer look at previous entries that approached the themes accidently.
"Vintage" became the theme for this month. This creation by Leila, sent to us in July 2009, perfectly matches the vintage feeling. The artwork presenting this design was put together perfectly. Back to the design, its silhouette, its double layered skirt, the ruffles of the top and the chosen asseccoires recall the memories of the past. The cigarette holder dates from a time when smoking was widely accepted, which is a long time ago. For now I keep my one and only true addiction dedicated to creations like this!"
"While watching this month's low input on our theme 'Summercocktails', I remembered the excellent, high quality designs from November 2008. So I decided to pick one of those for this month's place in the Gallery of Honour: Janneke's!
Janneke's creation simply looks and feels like summer on its best: freedom, happiness, comfort, no worries... While not being haute couture, the design nevertheless looks special. The sparkling colorfull composition of the frock reminds of a blend of happy feelings and bright sunbeams... cheerio!
The monthly Talent Scout input unfortunately seems to shrink. Just to make things clear: our themes are just meant as a help to lighten up your inspiration. In case you best feel inspired your own unique way? Show us! As long as it's gorgeous, it works for us!".
"The month of May became 'Spring Fling'-month...
Natasja showed her talent in transforming a flower into a dress, which is a perfect way to express springtime.
Especially the simplicity of the idea makes me happy: no details, just the shape; less is more!
The dress reflects a soft, luke-warm breeze which effectively wipes away the last winter moods."
"Pop-Art undoubtedly comes to mind when seeing Willemijn's creation.
Willemijn definitely got inspired by Roy Lichtenstein's art based on comics, which became the mega famous Pop-Art icons of this New York based artist. The colours of the dress match perfectly Lichtensteins comic-style.
The a-symmetrical sleeve gives it that special extra, while the red stripes refer to the 'Star Spangled Banner'.
So, a ravishingly shiny dress, absolutely also worth to be shown in the Guggenheim !"
"This months theme 'Living in a fairy tale' was a big succes!
Besides heaps of fairytale-frock-creations we received this outfit. Doesn't it make all the difference?
Medieval servant goes girlesque! Watch that flashy combination of jacket and dress: a spiced up pack of male & female elements. Goodbye Snowwhite, hello Jeanne d'Arc ~ go girl, go!"
"Danique's smashing outfit immediately caught my attention. As most entries look like they are the Talent's dream gear, Danique's outfit really pushes borders.
The look is very exciting, but what style is it? Is it Gothic, Rock, Horror? And watch that awesome, fabulous hairpiece! I still try to figure out what I was wearing during that shoot, but I do remember the feeling of warm and soft leatherette. Pity the Photoshop crew forgot some red coloured accents (in my contacts and heels) which I love so much in the original drawing. But then, with-or-without red, this creation is the super smasher!"
"Obviously Lian's inspiration was the mythic mermaid, which fits perfectly to this month's Carnaval. It's amazing no one earlier picked up the mermaid theme since Talent Scout has been around for quite some time now. Bravo Lian, you finally did it! Look at that tail, how cleverly designed! It gives me maximum freedom to walk and wriggle my hips.
After Carnaval is over I definitely will plunge into my bathtub in this great suit. Mermaids are fantastic creatures who deserve to be an everlasting inspiration for, even classic, design."
"Fake Fur became the theme of this month's Talentscouting and many of you reacted enthusiastically to it. This skating-suit-creation by Naomi became my favourite. I think it is a clear and lightly design, without details which accents its shape. The volume of the fur looks very comfortable and its colour is a surpising match with the yellow fabric. 'Take it or leave it', I took it with both hands and the ice-show wasn't my only stage!
The fun fair will be the location of this year's Talentscouting shoots. Like last year we hope to receive the most creative and spectacular designs that will form an exquisite new collection together, a special video of last year's creations is in the making, so stay tuned ."
Wrapped in his Autumn creation by Mereltje I will welcome the winterseason with open arms. Remarkable is the beautiful warm woolen coat with the fur-completion. Obviously fake fur otherwise I would not wear it. The coat is combined with a cool classic, the pilot's hat. The creation underneath is an easing going outfit with striking folk accents of roses above a expressive blue skirt. The clear and powerful styling of this creation dominates its design and communicates what was intended by the designer, '... from Russia with love'.
... and now ... time for the upcoming December creation. The winner will get an interview and will end up with me in a picture! Visit www.babelle.nl for more information.
2011-12# Let's introduce a new Babellissimo-tradition to you: once a year a special VIP treatment will be givin to the designer of the December place of honour. It's the perfect time of the year to reflect on a designer who managed to build a fine collection through the year and places a final special piece on top of it.
The December place of honour of 2011 goes to Mirabella who designed a party dress in the traditional Christmas colors. The evening dress of knit angora is elegant and comfortable. Perfect for a relaxed Christmas indoors and she even added a black leather bolero jacket as a formal variation to wear at the tradional family dinner. This creation that is part of the outstanding M&M Fashion Collection made me curious about its designer. Visite www.babelle.nl and read all about Mirabella.
I wish everyone a merry Christmas and lots of inspiration for a brand new Babellissimo year. I hope your collection will become true in 2012 !
We open the 2012 Gallery with a winter fairytale creation by CuteTessy. She already gained a place of honour last year in September and again she managed to add some spectacular designs to her collection. Tessy's romantic designs take you to another world. They speak to your imagination and let you escape from reality to a place where feeling prevails. Watching this creation you are carried away to another world, imagine yourself in a Alice in Wonderland setting. Nostalgic elements, applications, ribbons, lace and bows emphasize our mood. Despite the nostalgic elements Tessy manages to give a modern twist to her creation and I can tell she is pretty good in that when I look closely to her intire collection.
I hope Tessy will continue her Babellissimo collection so we can enjoy more of her fashionable fairies.
What a beautiful elegant creation this is! In case you hadn't noticed yet, Leyla uploaded 3 creations eversince she joined Babellissimo and they all made it to the place of honour. A unique performance that will be hard to beat. Moreover, one of her creations received the most babelle d'Ors by its visitors and is therefore the most popular entry of this talentscouting.
So again, another elegant creation brings Leyla to the top and once again you too appreciate this splendid entry. This suit with beautiful decorations, was beautifully worked out with lots of attention for its details. Notice the elegant shoes, matching the small slit in the skirt. The split that reveals surprising colors is a real eyecatcher and reflects good taste. Leyla has very carefully considered the styling which makes the final result very attractive and striking. Bellissimo!
