10/9/10-10/17/2010: "Super 8" Movie Shoot: Destroyed House, Tanks, 70's Main Street, Sets
Behind the scenes as Weirton, West Virginia becomes "Lillian, Ohio" in 1979 for the soon-to-be-epic-movie "Super 8". We were lucky enough to witness part of the JJ Abrams movie (LOST creator) , which is produced by Spielberg. The "secret project" being filmed in this WV neighborhood....
Highlights include sweet 70's cars, destruction and fire of cars and neighborhoods with tanks, we walked the sets of Main St. got a closer look at the 70's props and the "destroyed neighborhood", saw a scene being filmed last night with tanks firing cannons and chasing a car through a residential neighborhood, as well as a scene in a diner...
