Bella Road Trip 03/28/09 - 04/03/09
On Sat 03/28 we braved severe weather, including a hailstorm, on our long drive to Nashville to deliver Bella dog to our frineds Toby and Jenn, who arrived from Wisconsin. After they left with Bella the next morning, we roamed freely without an official plan. First we drove up to Mammoth Cave for the Historic Tour. Later, we drove east, staying in Corbin, KY in a horrible motel called Mountain View. After driving in circles with the new POS GPS, we spent an hour at Cumberland Falls. From there, a few hours to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, TN and the Smoky Mountains. Awesome! After a long drive south through downtown Atlanta for some Five Guys burgers, we continued until the rain and fatigue won out in Opelika, AL. From there we drove south to Pensacola, FL in heavy weather, to see the Quina House and area beaches. Rested in Panama City, FL. State Road 98 along the coast to get back home.
