At St. Kitts airport. St. Kitts is short for Christopher; named after Christopher Columbus who discovered the island.

I think this was at the restaurant we went to - Bananas. But, it's too dark to tell, and I don't remember. :)

Our friends, Melissa and Scott, with us for dinner
Really good food!!
The restaurant dog, "Rams", liked lamb. He sat by my side all dinner long, and then abruptly left after they picked up my plate.
Full moon at restaurant
Crab we saw on our way back to our hotel room one night. We had to scare it off the sidewalk or he would have been run over by a small van.
On way to rain forest tour
View of mountain
Cashew - the small nut part is very poisonous if not cured. The monkeys are smart enough to eat everything but the nut.
Cashew tree
Termites are a BIG, disgusting problem in the forest. Many trees are broken and dead because of infestations.

Thorns from an acacia tree. This is what Christ had on his head...very sharp. The guide said if you get one in your skin, put lime juice in the wound, and the thorn will rise right up and out of skin.
This area should have been filled with water by this time of year - it's the rainy season, but as you can see, it's entirely dry.
An old plantation, owned by Huggins. He was a bad man, and his spirit supposedly haunts the island at night.
Tree growing on bridge
Walkin across a dam... again, no water.
We had drinks here on some nights. There was always a band or pianist to entertain.
Mountain in the distance. The palm trees behind John are dying because of a disease brought over from mainland.
Favorite eateries - Sunshine's and Chevy's. Famous folks can be seen on the walls in photos taken with locals. Food was fantastic - lobster rocked!

Something for Jill :)
