Tess
Art and Tess are animals, all dropping off the backside into the clouds and shiz.
We took some breathers on the descent, a few of them without even crashing.

Tess: In three years we'll be "40-year old women."
I think Jack was talking about the appearance of Mercury retrograde in the sky, for some reason. Probably he was refuting astrology :)
Today, Dana and I decide to try snowboarding for the first time.
I'm scared.
Jack kindly gave us a little lesson.
This is before all the falling.
It would've been better to learn this when I was younger, more pliable and fearless, but whatever.
Let the falling commence.
Just getting up off your ass takes some learning, but you learn it quickly, as that is where you usually find yourself.
I told my dad to get a picture as soon as I was up, as it would not last long.
Falling on the wrists isn't great, but it's way better than crashing the back or front of your head into the mountain, which I did repeatedly.
Basically, whenever your downhill edge goes into the snow, you crash.
I got a real lesson, which helped, and on the second day I got a helmet.
Unlike other helmeted activities -- say, motorcycling, where you hope your helmet NEVER actually is used for its true purpose -- in learning to snowboard it's not a matter of IF or even when your helmet will come between your head and an immovable object, but how hard and how many times.
Hi dad.
