St. Paul's tomb
The only pyramid we saw in Rome...
We tried to go to the Colosseum that day but it was too late, the gates were closed.
Don't worry, we'll be back...
I'm guessing there used to be reliefs and other statues attached to those holes up there...
Since the Colosseum was closed, we headed to the nearest attraction, another basilica. This is the Basilica of St. Paul. It was right next to a small University. You'll also see these signs displayed in front of most churches. It warns the tourists/visitors about the dress code. No short shorts and exposed shoulders.
We saw many of these sculptures throughout Basilica of St. Paul.
St. Paul's chains.
Since we spent the entire day walking around Rome, we decided to take it easy. Bought some meat and cheese from the deli down the street and had a picnic on the rooftop of the hotel. It was a beautiful night.
The people at the deli did not speak any English. We just pointed at what looked good and raised the number of fingers indicating how much we wanted.
