"I had turtle meat in China. It didn't taste bad, but it was disturbing for some reason. But this reminds me of an experience at a Yunan-style restaurant in Beijing. I was with my interpretor friend. This lady in the back started screaming at the staff, as loud as she could be, and everyone just ate as if nothing was going on. It went on for 10 minutes. I finally asked my friend what was going on. He said the woman had selected a live turtle for a meal, and when the dish was delivered, she accused the staff of switching turtles, giving her a smaller one. One of my many great China memories."
