2011 Carlsbad JV vs Valley Center
Carlsbad JV beats Valley Center 10 - 1
The JV Lancers improved their record to 12 and 4, dominating the weaker Valley Center Jaguars both offensively and defensively. The Lancers started the game strong, batting through the lineup in the bottom of the 1st, scoring four runs on three hits, including a lead off double by Nathan Mann and a double by Slater Lee on a 0-2 count. The inning included a Jaguar error, the first of six committed by Valley Center in the game, and two hit batsmen.
Kevin Menker, getting his first pitching start of the season, shined. He sailed through the first four innings facing the minimum number of batters, with the help of a Jaguar caught stealing in the 1st. His only trouble came in the 5th when he gave up a single, walk and double, resulting in the only Valley Center run. Menker completed the game allowing only three hits with ten strike outs and one walk.
