The Thompson Igniter. A power sniper rifle that fires high power energy rounds. Created for the Equipment Index. This might just be my favourite weapon model in the game.
A Mex City scene depicting a Free Mass Transportation System Vehicle (or simply FEMTS). It's a free bus service that runs driverless aroud all Mex cities. This one is currently parked in a station to let passengers on and off.
A Cyclone space craft in order around the planet. This was a test render for the automatic planet generation tutorial I followed. I think it's incorprated into the Elements now. Most images are.
The Obliviator. A 10.2 handgun created for a gaming group. It was unwieldly and wildly inaccurate.
A croft house and croft mushroom (in background) with a harvester docked on. I was playing with atmospheres and trying to show how you might farm for a few million people with little human effort.
The Gaterunner, one of the most expensive (and fast) space craft. I really enjoyed skinning this one although I'd probably make a UV map for it if I were to improve it. Extra little details help give it scale. I love the organic feel of the craft.
I tend not to do detail on the underside but I did on the Gaterunner. It was an ongoing experiment into using nurbs in Lightwave.
The cyclone, a standard, medium range space craft that is also atmospherically capable. Not sure I like the manner in which I got the airlock irises on this.
The back of the cyclone, medium freighter. I wasn't really sure what to do with the back end of it. Perhaps it needs some more detail.
A Mex city depicting a Bailey, Blackwater and Gaterunner docked onto the star port. Star ports run around the entire edge of the city. I did this render just for fun but I will probably end up using it in the Society book. You can see some hoppers moving crates in the lower left corner.
The Korg 5, a crazily powerful hand-held gun. This design went back to my old school days of creating insane gun designs.
A simple render to test and play with environments in Vue. I needed some stock pictures to go as incidental horizontal images throughout the rules.
In this format, this render looks a little odd. Only a narrow bar was needed here so the very top and the bottom of the image are a bit bare.
This was the lower part of the Elements image, the rendered piece. A (slightly modified) Anchorage Grav car can be seen in the foreground, Croft farm harvest pods in the middle distance and a Cyclone with a Mex city in the background.
A hauler 2 running a small number of crates over a mountainscape. I could do with some more detail on the harvester but apart from that, I really like this.
A Droid MK3 in mid step, rendered from the front. It's still my favourite 3D thing I've done.
This is a late variant Droid Mk3 because it has all the turbines on its back. These are use to make it accelerate quickly to jump long distances and even fly.
A harvester heading home. I needed this image to show how large the harvester are meant to be. I am not sure about the main cab of the harvester or the low detail nature of the model. Might need a redesign. The scene itself is lovely, though.
The Gate runner. By god it's ugly. Not sure I like the background much either.
every special forces dream, the Cataclyst. A devastating multiweapon. These reflective renders are going to count for a lot in version 7 of the equipment index. I might need to add some more detail to the model, though.
Another odd composition, the cyclone was rendered to go in a horizontal bar in the elements.
The main render that will make up the new cover for the Society book. There's a fair amount of post processing to do yet.
A sporty versoon of the standard grav car. I like the surfacing on it but, once again, it could do with some sort of UV bump map. Most of my renders are like that.
Inisde a Mex city. Was a difficult thing to do because of the sheer number of polygons and variance of building types. Buildings in the distance are actually low poly gon versions. This took me a while, thus the lack of traffic.
The Blackwater is a good entry level space craft.
Blackwater space craft. A good entry level space craft.
A croft, small farming holding with a Cyclone and haulers loading up. I like the layout but the environment is very basic and doesn't look natural. That needs sorting out.
The Elements from cover. A composition that seemed to take forever but it was worth it.
The Droid Mk3. If you're this close, you're not likely to live long.
The Kestrel family van. Used for hundreds of different things. (Humorously, this is actually the Fleet Special Forces Cataclyst, the most deadly weapon in the game. I think it's quite funny I mislabelled it, so I'm leaving the original label there!)
The Cataclyst, the heavy special forces weapon, equipped to Inferno class Special Forces.
The Tornado space craft, perhaps my favourite space craft in Icar. At the moment.
An oldie and a goodie. A Mk3 Droid walking in a grassy field.
Part rendered, part drawn, this shows a Tornado space craft at sunset.
Tornado space craft, erm, in space.
One of my first pen drawings in Photoshop. Depicts an Akarakian Borg missionary. Although made from metal, Borgs still have movable facial features.
Korg 5 assault cannon. Fierce and deadly.
Korg 5 assault cannon. One of the most dead things you can strap to your arm.
An Order of the Stick style borg with an incinerator.
The Kestrel family van. Used for hundreds of different things.
The Kestrel family van from behind, showing off its turbines. Used for hundreds of different things.
A hauler being unloaded by hoppers with a lift in the corder of the building. The Hoppers are semi-intelligent and need little supervision.
The Gaterunner executive craft. Designed to go outside human space on expeditions but rarely used for that purpose. Most used for posing.
This render shows a number of Hopper Automatons carrying space crates in a planet's atmosphere. This sort of scene is common in Icar.
Land trains in Icar look like this, called Haulers. They normally are 20 or more carriages long and travel at 800 miles per hour.
A dangerous-to-ride grav bike for the daring.
This is the new model for the Icar hauler, a high speed land train. Rendered high res the Icar version 4.
Hoppers moving Space Crate cargo, for Icar version 4.
This is the new 'second' character sheet, simplified for skills and equipment. Brought into line with the main character sheet.
The new body/armour sheet. When folded down the middle, armour appears on the backside. For each section, the Armour Rating (AR) is in the smaller disc and Hit Points in the larger disc with original value above the line and current value below it.
The Botchery Clipper, much maligned old Scavenger Vessel detail in the Icar V4 scavenger setting
The images used for the close combat combo rules. It's my wife beating me up.
LOKI collar helmet for the next version of the Equipment Index
LOKI tech harness for the next version of the equipment index. Needs to polishing due to turn polygons.
A render of a load of tech items that I did for the Equipment Index.
The Forrester Zipper, a small Grav bike for nipping around town in. Good acceleration, reasonable top speed one man item. The sort of thing my wife would buy.
A Mk3 droid from the top and behind.
A droid Mk3 from the side.
An Anchorage Grav car flying over a lake. I made this image as a part render for the Society book but it would be a shame not to include it in its full form.
One of the candidate renders for the website front page. In the end, I moved the sun and cropped a few things. On the left is a Croft harvester farm dock, in the middle an Anchorage Grav car, a Cyclone space craft takes off with a Mex city in the background.
For Version 4, this is a test render of an Gaterunner on a rocky planet surface.
The Pitlifter is a ubiquitous ground to orbit hauler. People are transported in the front "blade" section and cargo in the rear main section and in the cargo tubes.
For version 4, this image shows a croft taking delivery from a Cyclone freighter.
New model for the Rover small family car.
Brand new model for the Forester Sports mark 5.
New Kestrel Family van model.
Tornado - Fast and large freighter with atmosphere capability.
Kuriaken - A small and fast executive spacecraft.
Vendetta. A multi-weapon that the public can get hold of. Model by Byrn.
The ChainSAW 7 in high res with textures. Model by Byrn.
Hellhound chain gun. I tried putting a load of texture on it but it just looked odd, so I left it plain.
ChainSAW 5. Model by Byrn.
ChainSAW 2. The frankly nuts humanity shredder. Model by Byrn.
Astraripper 2e BSV version.
New Korg 5 model. The Korg 5 is a pwoerful Assault Cannon.
Havoc 1c Star Enforcer Rifle. The stock rifle is shown (without the add-ons)
Bullet spitting leviathon, the Papex 7
Photoscythe - pulse laser
