t & ási in kaupmannahöfn/københavn/copenhagen for an hour before our train to Århus
the weather was pretty crap most of the time in denmark - look at the size of the puddles! (linguists out collecting data)
Last data-collection day, outing to the Stranding Museum. Sten and Øystein look like they're about to be blown away
Pål, (a very bedraggled) Karen, and other intrepid lingusts heading out onto the pier at the Stranding Coast
the waves at the Stranding Museum (ie a museum full of relics from shipwrecks) were pretty impressive for a not REALLY windy day in Denmark
the shipwreck coast of denmark (or probably one of)
t about to nearly cop it, magnus somewhat more rugged up and further from the crashing waves
auuuuggghhhh!!
...and heading back again!
Åshild the Windswept, Pål Barehead, Karen The Bedraggled and Henrik Warm Head
Magnus the Snug
haha

eva, happy cos it's warm and dry inside!!
third time lucky to get a photo of Zakaris the Pharoe (hehe) with his eyes OPEN!
Zakaris & t
we passed through Rom, Paris and London, and øystein has proof of them all (i think)
action photo, just outside Rom(e)
Øystein the Smiley & t
It's not a trip to Denmark without WAFFLES!!
one of the few photos of Magnus the Swedish Finn where he's actually smiling!
This is the view you get of the fish on the floor in the entrance hall at Tambohus - it's a little bit 'homely'... :)
Sten the Shivery :p (in the carpark of Tambohus on the last morning)
Home Day and it's Karen the Beaming :) (Tambohus carpark)
the carpark at the Tambohus hotel backed onto the water, and there's a walk up around the right there, with a bridge going over to an island, where I had a lovely time singing, taking photos, and generally enjoying the empty, grey, cold sunrise. Church right up in the background.
i love sunrises (tambohus)
:)
(tambohus)
bridge to the little island. I reckon it'd be lovely here in summer, having a picnic lunch on the picnic table out on the island.
Tambohus from the little island
sunrise on the last morning, birds flapping about, it was lovely
sunlight reflecting off the clouds and off the water
it kind of reminds me of Strahan in Tasmania, with the boats and still water. Just no hills in the background!
Pål og t (last morning at tambohus)
There's a whole national park type thing with a track going around, with these stones along the way. The big stone has a poem or carving on it, and the small stones give the places and names of the people who cleared the land in Jylland in order to farm it etc, ie the main important people from the area.
here you can see how many of the stones there are up the track, and thus how many people are represented. The track is several kms long.
Maia the Swededane & t
the carved man watching over the Kartoffelpigen (the spud girl)
The Spud Girl is highly symbolic, and is special because of how hard people had to work to get the pototoes in the ground and growing.
Pål & Spud Girl
go on, guess what country we're in...
a burial mound (taken through the bus's window which was filthy, so sorry about the hazy image)
Sten showing Pål, Ási, Magnus, Maja and me around the Århus campus (one of)
A Danish mountain in the middle of the uni. The green grass was very refreshing to see after all the pavement, bricks and hibernating trees!
It's actually Sten doing the explaining and Ási doing the asking, even though it doesn't look like it!!
it's the Christmas Cat! Well, maybe not. This one doesn't look big enough to eat children...
Århus U
Århus is pretty bare, at least in winter
Magnus the Nearly Smiling & t, in Å
Sten the Beaming & t, saying farewell in Å
t & ási in K airport, nearly home! “We zijn dar biiiijnar, we zijn dar biiiiijnar, maar nog niet heeeeelemaaaaal...” (jeez I wish the little camera would focus on what I'm trying to take a photo of!)
