Duke’s nose & Canian Valley Trek

Kune falls is one of the breathtaking waterfalls in the heart of Lonavla-Khandala valley. It a spectacular sight as one can see the waterfall while coming out of the last tunnel to enter Lonavla while traveling from Mumbai to Pune.The waterfall is in 2 sections and each part is around 100 meters high. One has to to leave the Mumbai-Pune Expresway at the Lonavla bypass and take the old Mumbai-Pune highway for around 10 minutes. Kune missionary/church is a good landmark to reach the falls.

Harishchandragad Via Tolar Khind

Harishchandragad Fort is famous for its height, its toughness and the famous 'Konkan Kada'. Harishchandra Temple is known to be the pride of the fort. Sant Changdev stayed here for some time and completed his manuscript - 'Tatwasaar'. The Nandi and Shivling in the temple are breathtaking. A cave nearby is always full of very cold water. Harishchandragad Fort is situated in Junnar region near Malshej Ghat.

Sandhan Valley - Nature Hike

‘Sandhan’ is a beautiful place situated in the Western Ghats. Amidst the water carved valley of 100 feet deep and 1 KM long. Experience the heart throbbing crossing of 4 to 6 ft deep water pool in the way of 200 meter walk on the rock floored water carved valley. Sandhan is located in very remote part of Sahyadri, around 225 KM from Mumbai and Pune.

Mission Gr 8! - 8 Forts in 36 hrs.

After really long time we were on a very different & challenging trek .We set our self a challenging goal of doing 8 different treks in two days. Many of them were totally unknown to us & not done before. It was really demanding physically for us, but we were mentally prepared for the worst .It was properly & meticulously planned by Abhijeet Yadav , & well guided by Shekhar Dhupkar & good teamwork got us through this challenging trek . Shivneri Visit

Whenever we talk about the era to which Shivaji Maharaj belongs, we cannot forget those ones who were behind the legendary hero. Shahaji Raje, Jijamata and of course, Samarth Ramdas Swami. The place where Ramdas resided after 1649 was a huge cavern, which came to be called as Shivthar Ghal (Ghal means cavern). This was where his famous ”Dasbodha” was written. Adorned by exotic nature, this place is worth visiting.

Bhimashankar Trek Via Shidi Ghat

Bhimashankar, is a well known hike as well as a famous religious place as it is one of the 12 Jyotirlinga shrines in India. Bhimashankar Temple is a buzzing temple with beautiful architecture. Bhimashankar trek is more of endurance rather than a typical hike. The Bhimashankar trek to the top goes through beautiful jungles, cliffs, plains and some thrilling patches. There are 2 ways to go, basically the Ganesh route and Shidi(ladder) route once you reach the base village of Khandas near karjat.

Peth (Kothaligad) Trek on Bikes

Kothaligad, popularly known as the Peth fort, allures the trekkers and nature lovers for the beauty of the western ghats around it. The surroundings are a sight especially in the monsoon when the ghats wear a fresh new look. It was said to be ajinkya or unconquerable as it was never conquered until the Mughal sardars entered the fort in disguise.

Sudhagad Trek

Sudhagad is one of the ancient forts in Sahyadri. It was the glory of Bhor state. Initially, Sudhagad was called as ‘Bhorapgad’. During empire of Shivaji Maharaj this fort was named as Sudhagad. This fort is approximately 590 meters in height. Sudhagad is a huge fort. It is called as the replica of Raigad.

HarishchandraGad via Nalichi Vaat – R U Ready For Challenge ?

H'Gad via nalichi vaat is toughest & some what deadly trek. Due rock fall, slippery patches, unstable rocks, heavy fog it become dangerous. Villagers advised us not go via nalichi vaat but we were determined to go by that way & we had confidence in ourselves. At 7.30 pm, After 15 hr. of long & exhausted trekking we were finally reached at Kokan kada with 8 rock climbs. Every one expecting dream rest, hot soup & dinner at cave, but that wasn't to be. Due to heavy fog we were unable to find caves. So we spend whole night at Kokan kada in open air with heavy wind flow & rain. That was deadly but amazing experience. This was one of the best trek in my life. Thanks to Adiya, Dhawal, Dhananjay, Shridhar & all 20 members for making this mission successful.

Katraj to Sinhagad Moonlight Trek.... Summer Night

"Where there is a hill, there better be a way!" would be an apt way to describe this trek in a one-liner. It is a favorite of many trekkers. Board any bus via Katraj Ghat from Pune and alight at the tunnel of the Ghat. On the top of the tunnel is the peak known as Vrindavan, from where the trek starts. This is total 14 km long route. We have to cross total 22 hills to reach Sinhagad from Katraj tunnel. It’s take 8.30 hr time at slow speed & at medium speed 6-7 hr. time. This is a gr8 experience

Sarasgad Trek

Sarasgad is near Pali village, One can go to fort through 'Dindi Darwaza'. This is the only way to the fort. One should alight at Pali and go to the fort through 'Dindi Darwaza'. Go to left from backside of the temple. This way heads straight to the bastion of the fort. There is a room at the base of the bastion. It was residence of the guards. From here ascend about 96 steps and go at the main entrance of the fort. Opposite to it is a gatehouse.

Madan & Kulang - Tough Trek in Sahyadri

Madan, Kulang & Alang are the tough & Adventure Trek in Sahyadri. Good level of fitness is required! 7-8 hr. time required to reach Madan from base village Kaluste. There are also ways from Ambevadi & Ghatghar with same time. Some patches are tough for climb so trek instruments are required. There is 50 ft. climbing at last patch of Madan. Kulang is a beautiful fort so does not miss that. This album contains mix snaps from Rahul, Rituraj & Shrikant’s Cam.

Dhak Bahiri - Most Dangerous Trek

Dhak is most dangerous, changeling, thriller trek.You have to use many different trekking techniques, with not any trek equipments. No chance of Mistake. No room for keeping leg & rock grips for holding hands. One side deep valley & other side vertical mountain wall. Many people don’t continue this when they see the wild Dhak. But due to experience of 1200 Ft. waterfall rappelling it done it very easily. The person who can complete this trek can go for any trek.

Nane Ghat Trek By BhatakiToli

Our BhatakiToli recently went for night trek with the planning of Nane ghat night & Jivdhan day trek. But twist was that 2 out of 3 bikes get puncture & 3rd near to that, in that no man area. But we fully enjoy that puncture condition, night stay at cave, cooking at nane ghat. Naneghat denotes ancient trade route which joined the Ghat areas of Shivneri, Junnar to the coastal areas 2000 years old. Marathi coins are known as Nane and since the area resides in the hilly (Ghat) regions it is termed as Naneghat.

Elephanta Caves, Bombay on Bike

Total km Travel : 346 km ( On Bike in Single day ) Route : Aundh (Pune) - Lonavala - Vashi - Sion - CST - Gate Of India - Elephanta Island. This my 3rd visit to Bombay on bike.Now my bike total running is near to record of 1,00,000 km.( Current running 88,556 km ). The Great Cave at Elephanta is one of the great monuments on island near Bombay.The island is easily accessible by ferry from Mumbai, about 10 km. Elephanta is the name given to the island by the Portuguese, dating to the sixth century AD.The cave is designed to accommodate Hindu ritual of circumambulating the cave, and encountering a number of images related to Shiva.
