LA, October 2008
For Joe's birthday, I got him a trip home to LA. I wanted him to be able to see his family for the first time in 3 years. We got off the plane and went to Venice Beach. We ate there and walked around. Then we went to our hotel in Redondo Beach, where we rented beach cruiser bikes and went to Naja's Bar in the Harbor. Then we went to a vegan restaurant for dinner. Afterwards, we went to a Weezer concert with Joe's friend Eddie. The next day, we went to Sun City, CA to visit Joe's family. His parents live there. We also saw his sister, Carolyn. We spent two days there, and then went back to LA. We went to Hollywood and drove around. We also went shopping. For dinner, we met up with my friend from high school, Paul Reese, and his girlfriend Meredith. We then went to the Valley to see Joe's friend, Matt. On Saturday, we went disc golfing and went to In and Out burger, a place that Joe's been missing since coming to the Midwest. We had a party with friends later that evening.
