This is Nick's bike, here in Orleans, Ontario. Just goes to show, there still are some fantastic Viragos out there, if you're willing to search for one.
Brian has a sense of style
My name is Pete. I live in Samsonville, NY. I just bought my first street bike, a 1995 Virago 1100. I love the shaft drive, and V twin. I want to have a larger tank built for it, and a custom paint job. I'm going to paint it in the theme of my division. I'm a retired NYC Sanitation officer. I worked at Ground Zero for 9 months, and lost part of my lungs because of it.. I'm ok, I just get winded when I do too many activities.. But riding my bike is the most pleasure I've had in years! It is my present to myself! My division was "The WTC Emergency Response Division!" Everyone associate the search and recovery effort, and the clean up with the Fire Department.. I had a small army of 800 men there! Well, here's a pics with my Dad and the bike. I'm taking care of him, he's 89, and has a better memory than me! lol.. In the spring, I might take you up on building a custom seat. I want one that is a lot more comfortable, for me and a passenger.. Oh, the bike now has 75,600 miles on it, and still runs awesome!
Mario from St-Joseph-du-Lac, Quebec sent me this picture of his bike. "I'm proud to present to you my little mule. I bought this bike from my brother in law five years ago. It was parked for four years in an old apple fridge so it was beginning to rust. My son made all the body and paint work on it. He's doing that as a hobby. he's a body man in a garage. "
From Rick in Bradford Ont. 91' XV1100 Owned since new . This is a nice example of some serious paint work. IMO
Yamaha Virgo 1000cc 1984 model. I found it for sale from a mechanic who had it for many years and it is in as new condition, just needed a new tyre and hand grip and looks new. In the past, having driven many bikes over my 35 years of riding I found this bike the best to ride, having had BSA Rocket 3, and kicked started it round Australia in 1969 and many others. I live near the town of Wagga Wagga and use it to travel to work 4 days a week. I plan to use it to do the same , in the warmer months due to the price of fuel out here. Bob, Australia
I'm Jon from Edmonton,Alberta. This is my 84 XV1000. She's got 75,000 kms on her . Still runs like new. I've done a few mods. over the years,The most recent being the suicide shift. As you see its a very simple looking rig up but very effective. Since this picture ive also extended the Hiway pegs out another 6 inches. Lots of leg room now. These bikes are so cool, I love the retro look. Old school indeed.
my names johann and like you, i'm proud of my virago. mine's an 81 xv750. I'm from Manila Philippines. i had the stock pipes removed and had the new straight ones fabricated. lowered the stock seat. added leather saddle and tool bags and leather grip tassles. The old guages removed and installed small ones. Designed the engine guards myself. bought fog lamps from a car accessory shop, fabricated the fog lamp brackets using a mountain bike handlebar. replaced turn signals also fabricated the forward controls. still a long way to go though. i plan to have the mags and side covers chromed. also planning on having the gas tank enlarged, extend the rear and front fenders to make it look like indian fenders.

Paul of Ottawa. 1984 virago with 8600 km on it as you can see she's show room condition.
I've already put a set of 2004 V-Max rear shocks on her which raised the back end up about 1 1/2 inches. I also installed a set of Progressive front fork springs. The bike was way too low for my likings and now is much more comfortable for me at a raised height. I will also be adding forward controls and will look at your setup to see what I can do with it. I have a Plasma cutter which will make life easy should I decide to cut out a set of side plates for it. I already have dechromed the peeling backrest and polished it up to look like chrome. The side covers for the motor will be getting a chroming soon I hope. Thanks for all the info. Here's an early shot of my $300.00 Virago. Jim

This is the very first Virago I looked at, when I was shopping for a Virago. Naturally I couldn't buy it. It was already customized. There was little left for me to do.
