Roses and iris in the May 2003 border. The colors here are mostly pinks - roses "Lyric", "Fantin Latour", "Lavender Pink Parfait", "Gartendirektor Otto Linne".

The pink rose border - Roses "Lyric", "Fantin Latour" and "Gartendirektor Otto Linne". The tall perennial on the left is Salvia guaranitica "Black and Blue". The ornamental grass in the background is "Cabaret".
This area in the southeast corner of the property would later be called the "Secret Garden" after the garden wall was built. The rose on the arbor is the rambler "Bobbie James". Oakleaf hydrangea and viburnum also grow here. This area is underneath a black walnut tree.
May 2005 - Roses "Windchimes" (in foreground), "Buff Beauty" (center yellow rose), "Rambling Rector" and "Reve d'Or" on the pergola. The large white flowering shrub on the left is Beauty Bush. The spot of chartreuse is Weigela "Rubidor" which was later moved.
May 2005 - Rose "Veilchenblau" on the arch, "Lyda Rose" on the right.
May 2005 - This area sits directly on the south side of the house. A patio was later built on the left. The rose on the arch is "Lamarque", the pink roses on each side are "Carefree Wonder".
May 2005 - I started building the garden wall in the spring of 2003 and it wasn't completely finished and painted until the spring of 2006.
