Middle drawer was made shallow, but wide enough to hold cutting/fashion rulers and tracing paper. End drawer holds cutting implements and pattern weights.
The second drawer down in the middle section holds cardboard bolts with interfacings.
This cabinet was given to me by my old boss. It has since been painted navy to coordinate with the rest of the room.
You can see all the fabric closets here. The two closets in the back are full depth for hanging items.
The four two-drawer filing cabinets are tucked under the pressing area. They are shallow and give me knee space from the other side of the sewing area.
My sewing area is a U shaped area and is very efficient for my needs. The depth of the countertop is 30" so there is room for books, etc
Here you can see the serging area. Cabinets at the end of each area are used for storing serger attachments, thread, etc.
My pressing area. As you can see, the pressing board is removable so I can use that area for other things if needed.

These are two notions cabinets on wheels that DH built for me. They use plastic drawers available from www.gemsondisplay.com. The cabinets are wonderful for storing the myriad of small things in an easily accessible manner.
These cabinets are on wheels and can be moved under the countertop and out of the way.

I finally got this cabinet painted to match the room. Looks much better, don't you think?
Pant/Sleeve board built by DH. I love to use this - especially for pressing seams open on pants. Extra length and width are a big bonus!
