When you walk around the retreat, take the time to look up...
Walking away from the main house we walk into...
The Organic Orchard...
...with juicy Tangerines...
...Coconuts...
....Lychee...
...and Oranges.
Here, have one!
Walk in peace in the orchard...
...and look up again.
Grab a Rambutan...
...and admire the symmetry of the Landing Pad.
As we leave the orchard we see the Solar Power Station.
And the Organic Garden is silently growing herbs and veggies...
...some Thai Basil...
...and Parsley.
Back on the path we see the Ohana House.
Flowers add contrast to the landscape...
...and so does the local art.
Elvira picks a pineapple near the Ohana House...
...and shows off her skills as a gardener.
Mystical flowers...
...edible delights.
A botanists dream...
...and a Herpetologist's as well!
Nature's designs are innumerable..
Walk through the prayer circle near the Ohana House.
The powerful Noni grows in the yard.
Any artist will be inspired by the natural patterns.
So many natural decorations around the Ohana House and Retreat Center.
The Papaya getting ripe!
Lava turns to life...
...and explodes like fireworks.
Looking back we see a Malaysian Coconut Tree soak up the sun.
"Dirt" leads us on his rounds of the property.
We take a brief look up...
...and a short look back...
...and notice another show.
Perfect.
Dirt points us to the lower end of the property.
An decides to take a break.
And we look back up at the Ohana House.
Tall trees line the property on this side.
And native flowers grow in the open field.
Meditate in the shade.
And contemplate the simplicity.
The trees attract us...
...and attract the bees we keep on the land.
Now we walk back to towards the Avocado House and notice the ocean view.
And we take in the greenery.
Looking back we see the reclusive Mango House.
We notice a large grove of tall Bamboo...
...and take time to look more closely.
We sit at the Historic Hilo Railway Turn-About. A great place for large gatherings.
The Audubon Bus waits for the students.
Here they are...
They visit every year to learn about organic farming from Hugh.
This is the tallest tree for miles.
There is no development allowed between our retreat and the ocean.
More Papayas near the Avocado Tree House.
Let's climb up the tree house and watch the sun rise...
Wonderful!
Say hi to the goats, they love the attention...
...until they hear a noise.
Stalagmites of berries...
...and fountains of Leaves
Our landscaping uses local materials...
...and nature pays us back.
Stopping again, we look closely...
...
...and notice the patterns of the land.
We appreciate the earth...
..and end by resting in the shade. We hope you enjoyed our tour!
