You guys would have been bored seeing this stretch in all my trips..but I love this patch of highway
Twisties here I come
Constant at higher revs...a short cool off break
One of the hair-pins
The lake and hills in the distance
Heavenly stretch for bikers
I ain't wrong calling it heaven...am I?
My destination
Start of the walk
Bushy path
They make your trek as comfortable as it can get
And they go right till the top
Drinks break....fell here really bad while descending- knees still hurting :(
The cave mid-way
So what if monkeys are not around ;)
Lord Ganesha Temple on the way
The staircase continues
This is pure luxury...stairs, bars to hold, but no thrill :'(
Thats one corner of Koraigad
A small cave on the way- was made maybe for the security guard
View of the landscape below
The entrance
...and me at it
An inside shot
Still standing strong...dont know for how long considering everything is neglected here
The wind might have brought it down
But up it goes again...JAI MAHARASHTRA :)
The entrance shot from the other side
Narrow but safe..this bailey is throughout the border of the fort- for a nice walk all around
Enjoying the landscape
How far are these people going to go building concrete structures?
Its so huge- an air-force base can be constructed
Maybe if the devil could buy my soul, I might be able to afford one of these
Thats Amby Valley down there
Lovely looking cottages
Some more shots of Amby Valley
...and some more
The lower portion of the fort
Rusting in peace...but still alert
What it would have been 400 years back?
The whole fort is fenced with walls and all's still intact
Into hibernation
...and someone trying to wake it up
Would have been some task getting it up the fort
There's lot of water up here
Its vast- isn't it?
Flowers amongst weeds
Ruins of what may have been a Wada
Lord Ganesha Temple atop
Blessed with water...absolutely, but better dont use it for drinking
Lord Shiva Temple
Water reservoir
As clear as glass
The sun sets over Koraigad and I had to hurry back
My steed awaiting my return
Its HID Time...
Met up with Lalsaab, my SaddleSore Witness. He was showing me on his PC how hi-tech fuel vending has become. The whole pump is connected to the network- and every activity is sent to and monitored by the petroleum company.
Stopover at Rishabh for steaming rice, dal tadka and shev bhaaji :) That marks the end of a pretty relaxed and cozy little trip.
