Laura, Minesh, Allison and I got an early start on Friday morning and were first at the Pine Creek TH. We headed to the very enjoyable four pitch route called Geronimo, 5.6+.
The climb is on the Jack Rabbit Buttress in the background basically between the two vehicles.
The route ascends the major crack near the center of the photo to the left of the two summits.
Allison following pitch one. Steep, juggy terrain characterizes this wonderful route.
Starting up pitch two.
A nice crack for protection and great juggy features for climbing. Perfect!
Starting up the third pitch now. Pitch 3 was the most enjoyable pitch on the route. Steeper with more varnished features.
The view from the top of the route looking back at Calico Hills on the left and Vegas in the distance on the right.
Allison following the fourth pitch. A nicely exposed arete finish.
A summit register with random photos and an Apple Pie Clif Shot (I ate it!) inside.
Rappeling the route. Unfortunately the rappeling sucks on this route and mares the overall experience. We had one stuck rope that I had to solo back up 5.6 terrain to retrieve.
Minesh leading up the second pitch of the route.
Laura following up the second pitch.
To wind down for the day we went to climb this awesome route, Side Effects, 5.10d, at Calico Basin. We don't know this guy but it shows the route.
