Laureate
On September 6, 2009, during the La Naval Fiesta in Portland, Oregon, a Poet from the Town of Apalit, Pampanga was proclaimed and recognized as a Poet Laureate in Capampangan. Ninong Amor de Jesus, also known as "Ing Agila ning Apalit" has the honor of having that distinction of being the first from Apalit to be given such recognition.
