While in Aurangabad, we made friends with one of the local families and were invited into their home for a meal
There are a few caves temples in Aurangabad, although most are incomplete. Notice the reclining Buddha at the left of the picture
Panchakki, built in 1744, an aqueduct brings water to this site, and falling water drives an ancient mill used to grind flour, it was an engineering marvel
Nearby is the tomb of a Sufi saint, Baba Shah Musafir
Hallways at the Panchakki
The entrance gate to The Mini-Taj, Aurangabad, India
The Bibi-Ka Maqbara, built late 17th century by Mughal Emperor Aurangazeb, for his wife; also locally called the 'Mini Taj'
Decorative facades inside the front gate
The 'Mini-Taj' is only slightly smaller than the actual Taj Mahal, and is less ornamented, but to me is just as beautiful, and there were less tourists!
