On December 10, 2011, the St. Ann's Catholic Church in La Vernia hosted the Fiat Women's Retreat. Fiat - "Say Yes to Jesus" just as Mary did! Speakers were Fr. Bob Hogan, Sister Bernadette Bezner, Sister Virginia Huser and Margaret Szcybialka. Over 80 participants attended the all day retreat which concluded with Mass at 5:30, when Father Bob Logan celebrated the Mass. It was a blessed day. We plan to offer another Fiat Retreat next year. Thank you, everyone helped and attended!

2011-06-11 Youth Retreat

On June 11, 2011, more than 75 Catholic and non-Catholic youths from La Vernia, New Braunfels, Floresville and other communities attended a Christian Youth Retreat called Metanoia, which means "transformation." The retreat was held at St. Ann Catholic Church in La Vernia. Reverend Canon Stanislaw Fiuk, St. Ann's pastor, initiated the concept of the retreat, which will become an annual event. The purpose of the conference was to "show youth from a youth perspective that God calls us all to transform and become a new creation in Him," said one of the event coordinators, Matt Arismendez of St. Paul Catholic Church in San Antonio. The event was sponsored by the Catholic Center for Charismatic Renewal in San Antonio. The key leaders were Father Stanislaw Fiuk of St. Ann's, Delfie Garcia, Tongues of Fire musicians, St. Ann's La Vernia Youth Group, Matt Arismendez, Mario Ortiz and several parents. 2011-05-15 Fatima procession with Sophie and Seniors

Following the recognition of graduating seniors, their parents and teachers, an outdoor procession to honor Our Lady of Fatima was held at St. Ann Catholic Church. Special guest was young parishioner, Sophie, who is battling cancer in her tiny body. Following the procession, parish priest, Reverend Canon Stanislaw Fiuk welcomed everyone to enjoy a fresh bowl of Bigos, a traditional Polish dish of beef and sauerkraut, which he made. La Vernia Community Cross Walk on Good Friday

People of all faiths came together for the annual Community Cross Walk held at the La Vernia City Park. Young and old carried the Cross from station to station where at each stop one of seven local pastors spoke on the Love and Passion at the Cross. 2011-04-11 Healing Mission

Lenten Special Healing Mission. April 11-13, St. Ann Catholic Church, La Vernia. Guest Speaker: Paul Rymniak. Paul Rymniak sees it as an honor to be at our parish to conduct his Healing Mission which also includes the Rosary and the Stations of the Cross. Paul offered his healing efforts to all, Catholic or not. Priests were available for confession before and after each Mass. 2009-03-05 P.A.P.A. at Fr. Stan's Birthday Party

Father Stanislaw Fiuk celebrated his birthday with more than 25 of his closest friends, members of the Polish American Priests Association. The men are from the Corpus Christi Diocese, the Laredo Diocese and the San Antonio Diocese. Many of them have also served in South America where they learned Spanish. The priests included: Bishop Emeritus John Yanta, Fr. Stanisluw Fiuk, Fr. Stefan Wiera, Fr. Zenon Konowalek, Fr. Grzeborz Sawicki, Fr. Arkadiusz Szyda, Fr. Mariusz Lazarek, Fr.
