upon our arrival, Julie (Gigi's mom) met us at the bus terminal and brought us to the Mary Hotel, a good mid-range option with a great continental breakfast buffet... muchas gracias Julie!

all ready for Christmas
dinner at Julie's house with Gig's friend, Marcella
Julie prepared an absolutely delicious dinner of Silpancho
after the filling dinner, we danced it off while listening to Dean's (Gigi's husband) salsa CD

and Julie's rabbits too... all 10 of them!
after a continental breakfast at the hotel, we had breakfast #2 at Los Castores where all they do are saltenas...
a specialty of Cochabamba, this saltena was filled with meat, potatoes and vegetables in a spicy sauce... sheer perfection!
... and the third and final breakfast of the day was on the street where this lady served up rellenas (stuffed peppers or potatoes) with a variety of sauces and salad...
... this one was stuffed with rice and ground beef in the middle, then doused with a spicy peanut sauce... deee-licious!
then a couple of hours later, we had a lovely lunch at La Cantonata with Julie and Miriam, another friend of Gigi's
after lunch, we went shopping at the artesanal market
