Palenque ruins 20090322

We were given four hours to run around the ruins of Palenque. To explore the site even further i could easily have spent another to-three hours there. As it were i basically ran around and snapped photos.

Agua Azul 20090322

Agua Azul is a somewhat cold freshwater fall found in the jungle. There are a lot of falls scattered around the jungle in this area. I went for a little excursion and found even more to see but did not bring the camera :(

Just had to snap photos of my room in Palenque. And of course of the other stuff around El Panchan where i stayed, which is in the jungle by the way. Waking up to the sound of the howler monkeys was fun ;)

Cañon Del Sumidero 20090318

We went for a boat ride in the Sumidero canyon. Highest peak of the canyon was about 800 m above us and the deepest point below (that is, in the water) was about 240 m, in other words, a fairly steep canyon. Inbetween some animal life and a few nice rock formations were to see as well.

Sarah jumped off at Mazunte where she lives, Jonny and i continued on a couple more villages to Zipolite. We were riding in a collectivo with plenty of fresh air... Harald and Beths house, but my picutres are really crappy, does not do justice to the house. There are some attempts at catching the beach scene here as well.

Daytrip out from Oaxaca 2009-02-27

Took a daytrip out from Oaxaca to see the 2000 year old tree of Tule, some carpet making, the City of the dead, the petrified waters (Hierve el agua) and finally we had some mezcal tasting. No pictures fo that as i ran out of space ut at the waters...
