The place is named after Kate, daughter of Sir John Malcom - the founder of Mahabaleshwar.

Arthur's Seat - Mahabaleshwar ! --- Queen of all points. Some compare the stractification of rocks on southern side to the world famous stratification of rocks of the Grand Canyon of Colarado. USA. It is facinating to see the barren deep valley Savitri on the left & shallow green valley on the right. It is more facinating to know that Arthur's seat is the only place showing geographical distinction of kokan & Desh (Deccan), two territories of Mahabaleshwar, so clear & so near.

The most difficult shot - Captured using my SLR infront of a Telescope - There are telescopes mounted at Arthur's Seat which helps you to view Shivaji’s statue at the Bale Killa and the fluttering saffron flag which are miles away from it.
One Tree Point - Table Land - Panchgani’s crowning glory and a vast plateau, 4.5 km long, said to be second largest in Asia. There's just a single tree growing on a rock at the edge of this table land.
Parsi Point - Panchgani -- It offers panoramic views of picturesque Dhom Dam backwaters and the lush green Krishna valley. One can spend many hours in this calm and cool ambience enjoying the fragrant breeze emerging out from the hilly ranges.
