Looking at our back gate from the road to the training center.
They have delivered 14 truck loads of sand and gravel so far as we begin to establish a road to the MMMSDS training center.
The two coconut trees around which we need to bend the road due to a legal battle currently going on about these trees.
The three stands of banana trees on the left will be removed as the road continues to the training center.
Looking back at the back gate of our yard from the last load of sand and gravel.
Looking into the open area where one day we will see the training center.
One of the delivery trucks on his way out after dropping his load.
We had not yet poured concrete on the yard. After this we realized we needed to do so.
The road has not yet extended all the way to the training center building site.
Now the road readhes the building site.
We got this far in the training center construction last November when we had to stop.
The electric company tells us that we have to buy poles to get electricity to the building site.
So I took some pictures to show them there are already poles in place.
Meet Mrs. Hiquiana's pregnant carabao. Tended to by pastor Doods.
The grass had grown up at the buiding site since November 2008, so we cut and now are about to burn it.

Work has resumed with the first project, the perimeter fence.
Nelly's farm house was vacant so we also strung electricity from the training center this became the residence of the work crew.
The orphans living in Ma'am Nelly's orphanage planted these peanuts in the are around the farm house.
The electric company has not yet installed the transformer and electric meter, so we strung electricity the 300 meters from our house to the training center.
The light switch for the training center area lights.
Now that we have electricity available we were able to install the electric water pump.
A veiw of the training center site from the water pump. One day in this area we will put up the water tower which will supply water to the area.
The pump works!

We finally posted our building permit for all to see.

Nita's brother Boboy stayed to provide security when the work stopped at the end of May. This was his residence. "The MMMSDSTC Hilton."
We built a cage around the water pump to make it more difficult for the thieves.
A couple of the workers did return for a couple of days after the concrete was set to remove the wood framing and install this temporary gate for security.

We purchased this male goat from a local farmer so we could begin to raise our own.

The guys were all smiles when this new cement mixer rolled into the yard. Prior to this week ALL the cement for everything done so far had been mixed by hand with shovels. Isn't technology magnificent!

Another delivery of "fill" sand and gravel.
This type tree has very weak and shallow roots. Two such trees have fallen in the past breaking our electric lines from the house to the training center. This one could possibly fall onto the training center, so the guys are removing it before that can happen.
TIMBERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! I don't know the Cebuano word for timber.

The ground around the training center gets very soft when it rains, so there are only a few spots that allow turning around.
Having turned around the truck will now back the rest of the way to the training center to dump the load of "fill."
This old diesel truck could use some attention. Smoke so thick the people below are almost invisible.
Standing water visible just beyond the fence. This is the case fallowing a heavy rain, but in one to two days of no rain it is dry again.

I see progress everytime I take this walk from our house to the training center site.
There sits our 2000 liter water tank.
There is always a nice breeze off the sea on the second level so a couple of the work crew constructed their sleeping area up there.
They say it is cool enough up here at night that they need blankets.
We will temporarily hook up the water system to the water tank here so we can begain training in January.
When the roof for the second level is in place we will move the water tank up there.

But I caught her in this shot.
