Keizer Rotary Club Raffle Party
The Keizer Rotary Club held its annual fund raising raffle party on Saturday, April 16. More than $60,000 was netted which included a silent auction. Money raised during the annual event fund the club’s community service projects. Dot Lewis of Keizer won the raffle grand prize: $10,000 in gold and silver. Her son, Jason—a Rotary Club member—sold her the ticket. Dot’s husband, George, said they thought Jason was joking when he called from the party and told them she had won. "We’ve bought tickets ever since the raffle started; this is the first time we’ve won anything,” said George Lewis. Party-goers enjoyed the Tailgate Party theme with tables festooned with sport team items. Keizer Rotary Club has contributed almost $500,000 over the past two decades for the community such as projects at the Keizer Little League fields, local schools and parks along with international Rotary Club efforts to eradicate polio and provide clean water.
