Concrete City
Concrete City is an abandoned mining village (built 1911, abandoned 1924) located just outside of Nanticoke, PA. All of the structures were built to house the upper echelons of management at the nearby Truesdale Colliery (Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad Company, Coal division). Because they were constructed using cast-in-place concrete on a single mold, the floors are identical and include a stairway to nowhere on the second level. The property on which Concrete City stands has recently been sold and while the exact future of these buildings is unknown, their destruction is likely in the near future. Be advised that these buildings are NOT structurally sound, and if you choose to explore the area, you are doing so at your own risk. For more details, visit floor9.com.
