Waistcoat 149: Vintage Fabrics Size 8

Waistcoat 149: Size 8, waistcoat created by Jackie Wills. Made in Britain. Machine embroidery, wool couching and applique. Created using mostly vintage fabrics from the 1970's and 80's. Some fabrics may be earlier than 1960's. from my collection. Pretty ,unique, feminine and really interesting and stunning waistcoat. In addition I have added fabric contrast by using fabrics from the last 10 years. Also some hand painted fabrics. different textures, chintz, cotton, some textured, collected because I loved them. This is a QUALITY waistcoat has no pockets or front fastenings Original, Unique and beautifully crafted flexibility as no front fastenings - check measurements with a garment you already wear to nearest half-inch Back neck to hem 19" , Back underarm to underarm 16", Side underarm to hem 9.5"Each front panel side seam to front opening 8.5" Armhole circumference 21.5" Back shoulder to shoulder from shoulder seam 14"

The Roman Archeology Waistcoat

Above: Detail of waistcoat ref: 147 - Commission .The Roman Archeology Waistcoat - created and designed by Jackie Wills - February 2011. The brief for this commission was to include artifacts found and equipment used on a Roman excavation dig/site. With artistic freedom I was able to add my own style to make this much admired garment. ...a challenge to balance all the found artifacts and equipment into a waistcoat design. The request from VOGUE sent me on a whole new design direction. Buy Waistcoats with Adjustable Backs

Many of the waistcoats I created in the early 1990's had plain backs with adjustable belts. They were very popular as the back belt made fitting flexible.
