KCDW Annual Wildflower walk 2012

KCDCC Small Business Expo

Kendall County Democratic Central Committee members and friends gathered at Scoreboards in Oswego to watch the polls and celebrate Primary Election Night on Tuesday, March 20th. KCDCC Candidate Rally

The Kendall County Democratic Central Committee would like to thank all the candidates and guests who came out to the Democratic Candidate Rally at AmericInn in Oswego on Sunday afternoon. Chairman Chuck Sutcliff, who MC’d the event was delighted to see the huge turnout. Getting Democrats fired up and ready to go for 2012 was the focus of the rally, and the energy was high. Special thanks go to Brad Middleton, Western Illinois Outreach Coordinator for Senator Dick Durbin, for speaking on behalf of Senator Durbin’s office. Congressional, legislative and local County Board candidates were able to speak and give out information and signs to those who attended.

Kane County Truman Dinner

Kendall County Democratic Central Committee members, Chairman Chuck Sutcliff, Treasurer Robyn Sutcliff, Media Relations Director and KC Board Candidate Amy Cesich, Kendall County Democratic Women President Chrisi Thanos-Vineyard, as well as Erik and Nancy Madsen attended the Kane County Democrats Truman Dinner Sunday February 26, 2012 at Pipers Banquets in Aurora IL. Illinois Lt. Gov. Sheila Simon, Democratic candidates and Democrats from surrounding counties attended this annual event. Norman Goldman, talk show host on Progressive Radio WCPT gave a great speech, rallying the Democrats for the upcoming 2012 election year. Congratulations, to Ken Christy for winning Kane County's 2012 Truman Award that goes to Distinguished Democrats. Northern Illinois Jobs with Justice Rally

Kendall County Democrats, along with Chrisi Thanos Vineyard, President of the Kendall County Women , and Amy Cesich, Kendall County Democratic Central Committee Media Relations Director, attended a Rally for Jobs hosted by the Northern Illinois Jobs with Justice Group. Speakers with the Northern Illinois Jobs with Justice, Mary Shesgreena and Andy Williams, Jr. (a paralegal, law student, and Chairman of Housing for the NAACP of Kane, Kendall, Will and DuPage Counties), marked and commented on the release of unemployment numbers by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. They addressed the ongoing unemployment and foreclosure crisis for all families and the complete failure of elected officials to hold bankers and lenders accountable or to offer meaningful solutions to unemployment. 2011Annual Holiday Party

The Kendall County Democratic Central Committee and Kendall County Democratic Women hosted their annual holiday party on December 16th in Yorkville. Local Democrats and candidates enjoyed the festivities and fun, including the traditional White Elephant gift exchange. Candidates celebrating the holiday season at this festive and fun event included Dennis Anderson (14th Congressional District), Juan Thomas (11th Congressional District), Jeremy Ly (75th District State Representative), Amy Cesich (Kendall County Board District 1) and Evie Givens (Kendall County Board District 2).

Stop the Beltway rally

10th Annual "Stop the Beltway Bridge to Nowhere Family Picnic" Sun., 8/28, 4pm, Marvel Davis Farm, Big Rock Join us for the 10th Annual 'Stop the Beltway' Bridge to NO Where family picnic on Sunday, August 28, at the BEAUTIFUL Marvel Davis farm at 47W066 Jericho Rd., Big Rock, 5 Miles West of IL Rt. 47. The festivities start at 4 pm with music by Grasslands Quartet. We'll have up-to-date information on the status of the Prairie Parkway/TRASHWAY. We will focus on alternatives to the Prairie Parkway -- major improvements to Illinois 47, and the KC project for an Eldamain Road bridge across the Fox River that parallels the Prairie Parkway route at one-sixth the price tag. Marvel's farm is at 47W066 Jericho Road, Big Rock, about 5 Miles West of IL Rt. 47. On the banks of Big Rock Creek and adjacent to the Big Rock Forest Preserve, the farm shows us just what would be lost if the Prairie Parkway cuts through the nearby woods and farm fields. The KCDCC and local union and student groups came out to protest the speaker in hopes to send a message to Kendall County that not all approve of Sheriff Joe and his antics.

Gov. Aurora University sign Bill Science & Math

Governor Pat Quinn today signed legislation that will advance STEM learning in Illinois by allowing the creation of an innovative school that will offer specialized education opportunities. Senate Bill 621 supports the creation of a Math & Science partnership school operated by Aurora's four school districts and Aurora University on campus. Joined by local middle school students attending summer science camp, Governor Quinn called for increased STEM learning opportunities in Illinois as a way to prepare students for 21st century jobs. "We want our children to be prepared to compete for the jobs of today and tomorrow," said Governor Quinn. "This innovative school will increase learning opportunities in science, technology, engineering and mathematics and give students more opportunities to succeed."

Bill Foster attends Jun Monthly KCDCC meeting

Businessman and scientist Bill Foster attended the Kendall County Central Committee monthly meeting in June to rally support and discuss his campaign for Congress in the Illinois' 11th Congressional District which contains Aurora, Joliet, Lisle, Montgomery, and Naperville. IDW convention reception with Donna Brazile

The Illinois Democratic Women (IDW) awarded a $1,000 scholarship, named for the late State Senator Penny Severns of Decatur, to Cai O’Connell, 17, of Yorkville, a senior at the Illinois Math & Science Academy. Donna Brazile, Vice President Al Gore’s 2000 Campaign Manager and CNN’s National Political Commentator, presented the award to Cai. Brazile told organizers she would pay for the scholarship and wrote a check on the spot. O’Connell will attend Cornell College in Iowa.
