Steve, Stevie & Steve's SHINY NEW BOAT!
Interesting use of a matte finish on the Tahe Marine
Heading down the Paerdegat on the first official club paddle of the season. Good crowd, beautiful if breezy weather!
Anne & Gary in the good ship "AKA 'The Barge'".
On down the basin --
under the bridge -
and on out to the sparkling Jamaica Bay.
The Opening Day flotilla (minus a couple of kayaks, a Sunfish & a Laser).
The Paddling Chef is HAPPY.
Setup for the 2nd roll -
My first roll of the Spring (I spent most of March in other boats - surfski & Sunfish - neither one rolls too well).
Another first roll of the spring. Spring rolls anyone? PS...sorry Stevie & Minh, your spring rolls were out of focus. :(
Far side of Canarsie Pol. We had this theory there'd be less wind over here. We were wrong. Strong crowd for this first paddle though, nobody really had any problems.
Lots of Brants.
eeek! runaway Sunfish!
Distant Laser, moving fast!
Waiting to cross -
at Buoy #12.
Holly beat us back. I was happy to be in a kayak today, I think I would have been in over my head (literally and repeatedly) if I'd sailed today.
Returning to the dock.
Still shiny, still happy!
The last few arrivals.
The post paddle spread. Yum.
Well exercised & well fed, let the meetings begin!
