Race over! Got a little muddied..
Flatted out the front..lent to Jamie for his race as well, he flatted it a second time..haha..
Alison made it out again, and lead for several laps.
Checking back to see where the competition is at..
Mical in hot pursuit!
Joelle chases as well.
Jamie Emery cleans the barriers.
Charlene about to tear by Paul Brend.
Flying remount..
Good to see Kmag back in action!
Chelsea had a bigger gap this race. Looks like the touring is out of her legs, and closer to race form.
Glenowyn kept having problems with her freehub...would keep on spinning, knocking off her chain.
Jen kept Glen in sight most of the race, but flatted as well..
Justin takes the victory for Master's Men.
Fluffy was in hot pursuit, but could not bridge the gap..
Mical wins for the Women! Alison had double-flatted..
Amanda appeared to have a much better race.
Jen climbs out of the forest, after swapping wheels.
The course outlined this rugby field.
Craig on a warm-up lap, going slow enough not to get too muddy..
Jen plays in the mud.
Nearly out!
Elite men on part of the climb.
Drew chases with a flat.
Steve, with Jamie in tow.
Riders wind around the tennis courts.
Roland went for a 2nd tour effort..
A fun little off-camber section, nice sharp corner off the bottom.
Craig opened up his lead early on, and never looked back.
Norm's group of four winds through..
Young Matt Dawes chases dutifully, great riding by the youngster!
Steve works his way up the stairs.
Jamie exits the diversion..it just winds around the corner into the stairs.
Rollie!
There was this longish downhill stretch on the road, leading to the stairs, which was nice as you could recover.
Part of the course wound through some 'singletrack'.
Obligatory mushroom shot.
Dave works his way through.
This section transformed over night - on Saturday when we set-up, it was relatively dry with a small pool. Sunday it was a literal river flowing down the hill!
Turned around, leading into the singletrack.
The river hid many sharp rocks that caused a lot of grief. Of course, since it's a downhill, it's nearly impossible to make anything out..you just let go of the brakes and pray.
Close your mouth!
Further up the hill, it was still dry up there.
Craig didn't have any trouble with the river.
The entrance to the woods, coming off an S bend i designed in order to slow riders down..otherwise they'd hit the downhill with a stupid amount of speed.
This was a great section, lots of slipping around.
Drew had regained a lot of ground, and was back to 2nd place!
Norm was sitting in 4th behind Dylan who snuck by.
This was not Johnny's day.
A thing of beauty.
The section leading up to the S bend.
Three off-camber V's. The last was very difficult to ride, the first two manageable.
Russel sporting a moustache.
Jamie not having as much riding this section.
Gotta say i'm not much of a fan of Pro City's kit, sorry guys!
I'm pretty happy with how this section turned out.
Of course, what would a Shish-designed course be without some kind of whirly-whirl?!
I made a mini-whirl, called it the Flush, as that sewer made a flushing noise if you stood near-by.
Craig made it around with ease. It was fun to watch this section on the first lap of each race, as it was an entertaining bottleneck.
Craig powers out.
Me likey.
Continuing along the course...a mud pit.
Drew cleared it with little trouble as he chases down Craig.
Others not so confident. The idea was that you hit it off a downhill, and could use that momentum to clear it, and ride out!
For me, the best line was to aim far to the left just before the mud, and the jam right hard, and take the climb on the right where it was less torn-up.
These guys duked it out all race, very entertaining!
Into the Flush..beautiful sky!
The mud sucks down another..
That's the spirit, Rollie rides it!
Johnny catching Roland.
Yeah...
Not sure it was called this..didn't notice any echos.
The lap starts with a road section, and then leads into this, starting off with some twists.
The long road up..
Jamie was enjoying himself. Different front tire. ;)
Part of the upper course, this lead to the other muddy section.
The rubgy field riders circled. In my opinion this section could have been omitted. ;)
Can't comment enough times on how nice of a day it was.
What *were* those arm-warmers Drew wore?!
Norm continues the chase, overtaking Dylan again. This drop was pretty tricky, it was the perfect size to suck in your wheel.
..and into the mud. Epic-looking sky there.
Steve hadn't broken his chain...yet..
Lovely...
Steve breaks yet another chain..
Roland comes in for his second finish!
What a trooper!
