Norm after the Saturday race, and the cornfield swimming pool featured in the background.
Go Nooooorm!
Fourth! Record finish for me - wahoo!!
Not as muddy today.. Still loving the original Michelin Mud tires.
This climb seemed much less steep going up...!! Walking over afterwards, i'd prolly hesitate to ride up it!
You can see this is Katie's favorite section. =)
Mical Dyck, new Victoria resident and pro MTB rider chased hard after Alison.
Jamie Emery and the crazy new Pro City kit..haha..
Chelsea had to keep on her toes to stay away from Jen..
Jen put in a solid effort!
Glenowyn tried to stay with Jen, but suffered several technical issues..
Rita appeared to be having fun on her new bike! The twisty section behind her was a great place to watch people tumble.
As the race progressed, more and more feet were out when cornering..
There's a happy rider!
I think the 'coss bike was really the preferred mount for the day.
Charlene clearly having a good time!
Clare is hooked on the sport, also attending most of the clinics - anyone got a 49" CX bike for sale?
Jen makes a move on Chelsea, getting by..
Unfortunately slid out, but was back on her wheel in seconds!
Your faithful photographer - still muddied from his race. 4th! Woohoo!
Obligatory mushroom shot.
Just before the summit.
I'm not sure if it was better to just keep running to the very top, or get on before the top..the course had widened from my race however!
View of Colwood from up here.
A busy spot - Alison chasing, was the only person i saw ride the entire section.
Mainly lapped riders in the background.
And they're off.. This section was thick, sticky mud as well, so it was slow-going for all.
I know Katie rides her bike sometimes too. ;)
Mical continues the chase!
Derek looking for a good line..
People in the library seemed oblivious that a bike race was whizzing by.
After the climb was a long downhill, mainly across the hillside, almost entirely off-camber. Side-knobs on tires were a must.
Riders would wind back and forth, so you'd be able to cheer multiple times from one spot.
The baby-blue Everti kits really stood out on this course!
The Master Men's leader was eventually dropped by Alison, he finished about a minute back...well, two minutes, since the Women started a minute later!
Alright Jen!!
That's a muddy Salsa!
And the Elite men are off!
Nic had a really great race, new to 'cross.
We see this guy at most of the races.
Steve was suffering a bit, he hasn't been riding quite as much.
Dave seemed to be having a rough day, you can see Craig in the background, he was FLYING.
Craig was focused on destroying the competition, ripping off laps in just over 6mins. My own lap times were in the 7'20 range.
The course seemed to suit Rob pretty well, he started off near the back but worked his way up to 3rd.
Right after that corner was this alleyway.
This long straight leading to the barriers was tough - the middle was very soggy grass.
Steve keeping it real.
Craig was really motoring. Here is catching Steve.
..and he's by..
Jams it, and opens a big gap.
Steve kept on him for a bit tho!
Craig comes in for the finish!
Norm, less soggy than on Saturday.
